There was a time when bands like Pantera and Obituary were regarded as extreme Metal acts; and newcomers Point Blank Rage tapped into this magic era to release their debut-album, The Sound of Resistance. Galy Records presents another Death Metal combo from Montreal, Quebec, and once again they do not disappoint. Old school Thrash/Death Metal is on the menu with this album, and the Montreal musicians used their time-machine to revive the lost spirit of primal aggression. The combo is deadly with Alexandre Leblanc of Neuraxis fame on vocals, great guitar riffing from Maurizio Manitta, groovy bass lines from Pier Natalino Mussinni and clear-sounding drum work from Julien Mercier. Point Blank Rage is as imaginative as this kind of music allows them to be, but they mainly get to the point by delivering aggressiveness and head-banging melodies all the way throughout the songs.
