Satyricon never was typical, close minded black metal band. They developed specific style over last few years which caused that they lost some old (let me say more conservative) fans but on the other hand also gained new ones. This is also quite ironic thing because their "new style" is much more rock'n'roll oriented and much closer to the so called first wave of black metal movement.

I thought this was a great album, slightly more straightforward than now, diabolical in terms of songwriting and song structure. Id even go as far to say that its their best album from the 21st century, in my opinion.

I think Satyricon began a steady decline once they hit the '00s. At that point it was just stale, mid-paced trapped-in-a-box watered down black metal. Oh well, at least they released some awesome shit back in the day.
