we'll see. it's certainly possible. depends how it sounds (we can assume it will be at least pretty good based upon their last several albums) and the strength of the competition.

Maybe it's just me, but Axioma Ethica Odini feels like a very awkward title for an Enslaved album.

Of all the things we are critizing is the album cover... that must mean thats the most important part of the album

Enslaved has delivered solid release after release, I doubt this will be an exception. However I am not digging the cover art nor the album title...

Samples sound pretty decent; not exactly blowing me away but the fact they haven't softened their sound further is definitely a good sign. Even sounds like they've reverted back to the sound of Ruun rather than that of Vertebrae.

Im really looking forward to this. Vertebrae blew me away and I like the way the band appears to be headed. The art looks good to me and the song titles are pretty original so upon release I'm snatching this one up.

The first song titled "Ethica Odini" has been released:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHWVRaiS00Q&feature=player_embedded
And it's awesome. It's a return to the sound of Ruun and and not a continuation of Vertebrae. So it looks like the Enslaved sound won't be watered down anymore!

The song's crap. They seem to be completely playing it safe these days, delivering what's expected of them, plastic "progressive" (ie not really progressing anything) metal with no passion, anger, emotion, anything.
It would be kind of hard to water their sound down any more, imo.

Been listening to the album a couple of times, really digging some of the riffs but unfortunately there's also a fair share of somewhat dodgy parts. The first two songs are not very good.

Got it today, listened to the first six songs about twice, but real life kept interrupting and preventing me from a straight through listen.
based upon first impressions, i really, really, really like this album and hope to have enough time to listen to it and get a review up before i take off on a (long deserved) holiday.
i already know what the soundtrack to my great adventure will be, though!

o_O? Ethica Odini is an incredible opener and one of the best on the album along with Giants! But yes, I agree the second song is fairly weak in comparison.

I listened 7 times to the whole album since yesterday, so yeah I guess this album is one of their best if not their best work, an earth shattering monster of an album, I can already predict that this will be on top of my end of the year list.

One thing that I like in Enslaved, it's that they never get influenced by anything, they keep the roots, and in every album they release gets better and better. The riffs are outstanding and original, the epic feeling is present in every track. One of the best albums of the year, without any doubt.
