The depressive duo of Tim "Sorrow" Yatras and the man known only as "D" are back with yet another chilling display of a statuesque journey through melancholia, venturing only so far from the true path of solitude with Woods Of Desolation in order to entice the audience enough to gain a mutual understanding of nature's purest form of torment.

The Australian duo have put all their blackened hearts into the task of unleashing one impressive beast of an album this year.

Woods Of Desolation will tear your soul apart. Not with the grim coldness of winter or the sheer power of nostalgia... But with one strange, warm and infectious feeling of ecstasy. Who would have thought that our Mother Earth could be so imposing and gentle at the same time...

Revisiting some of my favoured albums from earlier on this decade in preparation for putting together an 'end-of-decade' list; I don't think this'll make it onto there, but I want to give a shout out to Darker Days, really damn good track

I'm still in love with this album almost 10 years later. Just magnificent all around.

I was just thinking of getting a bit shitfaced after my shift now that My cold is almost over. Guess I’ll try this album once the alcohol starts to kick in.
I remember the climax of An Unbroken Moment to be one of my favorite black metal moments when I started to really get into the genre.

A Nice Guy
One of the best atmospheric black metal releases I've ever heard. It has such a quality sound to it with a mesmerizing atmosphere. The vocals are immense, especially when the clean vocals start on thr last track. The riffs have such a dark, emotional melancholic sound, yet it's uplifting at the same time. It's the perfect album for lifting up your spirits when your feeling down.
