An absolute beauty of an album. It's too bad their follow-up is anything but.

O_O
They have a fairly similar style, and are, IMO, even close in quality. Odd this opinion is.

I dunno, when I first started really getting into this I described it as an eerie kind of raw black metal that drew you in, like opening a closet door when all the lights are off.
The follow-up feels completely empty and doesn't do anything for me in terms of its atmosphere. I don't get the eerie vibe or the "closet in the darkness" feeling. :/

I was... yeah. No hangover fortunately but still tired as hell. I think the shoutbox was worse.

Drunken posting... You're trying to mirror Marcel in that too now?

This is in no way an easy listen. It took me several listens to enjoy, but it was totally worth it. This album is very 'black metal' in essence, but it is also very original. The first thing I noticed was the intricate structure and the technicality throughout the album, but nowhere as complex as the wankery Krallice, and much more 'soulful' than them. Another strong aspect of this work is the sonic melodies and leads blazing over the background rythyms, and that FANTASTIC guitar tone. This is way too dark. It's not dark in the prospect of hell (too cheesy), it feels like an extremely fast roller coaster ride in a pitch-black cavern. It's just darkness on it's one, with some elegance and grandeur injected here and there.

Best drunken album ever. As in being drunk and listening to.
5 votes?! Fuck that bollox. People can't be trusted to vote on good metal anyway so probably for the best.
