Track 7 isn't that interesting, but other than that this is a pleasure. The band has improved a lot during the years; Mayhem/Dark Funeral worship Mystérion Tés Anomias -> decent

Totally disagree. Their EP was absolutely phenomenal (sounds nothing like those bands you mentioned to me either, more like good era-Glorior Belli, Funeral Mist, mid-era DsO; classic orthodox BM sound etc), Tiamtu was a decent and solid full length whereas this is frankly total crap. I couldn't stomach more than 2/3 of it (hence no rating). Horribly cheap, sterile, fake sounding clumsy rubbish. Quite a disappointment really as the EP is one of my favourite EPs of all time.

Well I meant the original one without the two re-release bonuses (that ^ and the Celtic Frosty track). Mayhem's Mysteriis - Wolf (some of the riffs for example, and how the drums roll with those riffs) -era with some Early Dark Funeral sound and Sataaan feeling in it. I'm not that much into GB, maybe there's some older DsO thing going on.. and FM? Not so sure about that, a bit perhaps. Anyway, quite mediocre material.
Eh... this is such crap. Chuggy, aimless crap. Amazed anyone could rate this above a 6 and the relative praise it seems to have received is beyond me. This is why people can't be trusted to give opinions on anything. Of course it's a bit of a giveaway when the prevailing comments seem to be "it's a grower" which usually means that people have just gotten used to and familiar with it. Flat production and awful vocals too. They clearly forgot to add the bass to the final mix or even bother to add some separation in the levels. This makes Funeral Mist's 'Maranatha' seem like a masterpiece. On the plus side it makes me enjoy Tiamtu more than I used to. It just sounds like silk compared to this.

When I read your comments I immediatly searched for a couple fo songs because I kept wondering "can it really be that bad?"
and... I honestly can't believe how someone could find anything "cool" about this shit. Seriously, are people deaf or what because the production is HORRIBLE. Absolutely nothing to like about the sound of the guitars, close to no bass. I usually don't have huge standards for vocals though, but when everything sucks you end up giving more attention to the rest... and they have nothing to add to say the least (laughable clean vocals). I thought you were overreacting but it really is so sterile and the chuga-chuga riffs* sound so artificial it's not even funny.
Oh... and I like Maranatha (although Salvation is way better... God I love that crazy album).
* = nothing wrong with chugga-chugga riffs but they just don't work here... Darkspace's third album should serve as a guideline!

Actually in fairness if it's the first youtube song you listened to that's a particularly bad rip, bit as you say you listened to a couple so you've heard the songs how they were intended. But yeah, I don't like this to say the least.
I actually do think Maranatha is decent and listenable.

I listened to 3 tracks from the album... even one that had a very good rip (even HD shit) but that doesn't even begin to save the boring riffs and songwriting in general.
