The past 3 years have been celebrated with the arrival of a new Mechina album, making the symphonic industrial-tinged metallers one of the more prolific metal bands around. Whilst remaining within their definitive sound, the band has just about avoided excessive repetition and staved off musical fatigue, yet one wonders whether this regular output might ultimately impact upon the quality of the music produced.

Same deal as every year basically. Except this time I couldn't be bothered to actually listen to the end. I still like their "idea" but if they don't work on writing better songs they will fade away into obscurity.

I sort of feel the same way when listening to this. Though I really enjoyed Empyrean and thought they could get better, but they seem to stay on the same path with their songwriting.

Yeah, pretty much. I still like this, but it's getting old after 3 albums of exactly the same thing.

Conqueror is enough for me to enjoy Mechina. Will maybe give this album a try but from what I've read, it sounds like any other Mechina album : not bad at all but always the same...

Doesn't do it for me. I was a bit interested so I listened to the album a couple of times but no, this is boring as hell and way to clean.

I like the 4th track "On The Wings Of Nefeli" a lot. Sounds different from the usual Mechina to me. Anyway, I don't mind Mechina doing more of the same, because they do it well, and it's not like one would spend the whole year listening to only Mechina =P

I'm highly enjoying this, but I've heard very little of their stuff before. I can understand this getting tedious real quick if all the songs are the same on album after album. In fact, as cool as this is, I'm not sure I'll last till the end of the album. May make excellent background music though! Now that I say that I realize I feel like I'm listening to a kick ass soundtrack; not an album. Still, kick ass nonetheless!

Funny you say that, since this band always reminded me a lot of Mass Effect 2's soundtrack, but with vocals and some heavy guitars.

Yes! This album makes me want to play video games or battle-themed board games

End result: I made it through the album and loved it.

The few times I've heard them in the past I remember thinking "wow, this is great!" and then being bored 2 songs later. THIS album had a great arc, awesome energy, and was nicely varied enough to avoid any boredom. The "soundtrack" intensity we mentioned above was a vital element. from me.

Wow... I'm surprised no one said anything about the song "Earth-Born Axiom." That has the be one of the most impressive industrial metal songs I've ever had. That song rocked my socks off.
