Feel like these guys just invented Ambient Death Metal with this. Some of the tracks are just gloriously shape-free, yet sustain that OSDM atmosphere. The others only vaguely conform to death metal rules but nail it with the totally alien, freeform guitar work. Only 1 listen so far but I could easily see this being their best, seems like they carved out something unique to them here, instead of going for straight up Portal-intensity worship.

First impression is that it's not quite as good as Antikatastaseis, but they're way ahead of the pack as usual. Gotta spend more time with it.

Holy hell this might just be the heaviest thing I've heard all year. "Ambient death metal" is indeed a worthy descriptor.

That sopund more or less like what Chaos Echoes does.

Yeah kinda. I'd probably say Chaos Echoes are still the weirder, more left field band with an eerie, neutral sound. Whereas this is still kind of suffocating like some traditional OSDM.

Isn't this just cavernous death metal with more hall in the sound?

Absolutely hate the production here. The music might be good (I stopped at track 4), but the sound just ruins it for me

Yep,I approve the intensity, craziness and chaos presented here. I love how this band changes the style a bit between albums, while staying recognizable. Amazing record.

The production helps give it that foreboding vibe. I think it's a great record but it's not a record for all occasions.

Echoing what others have pointed out, this is an incredibly dense and atmospheric album. It takes a while to let it work its way into your ears and they don't do themselves any favors with this unconventional droning ambient blend of death metal in terms of engaging a wider audience, but it holds true to its cavernous roots. It's mood-specific and at times paced like a funeral doom record, so it can be quite difficult to engage with, but when everything lines up properly it could be argued this is the best death metal album of the year.

I might be in a minority who thinks 'Antikatastaseis' overshadowed by this album.

This is gonna be a classic from 2019. Easily one of the best DM records of the last couple of years.
