If Nu metal is a good subgenre, then how about naming 5 GREAT Nu metal bands? And I'm not talking about bands that just made 1 great album, but I'm talking about a consistently good discography.

Well, you're wrong on all accounts. First, there are some decent Nu metal out there. Second, Machine had maybe one Nu album (Supercharger). They're actually groove metal. And in terms of genres, Shoegaze/Blackgaze is the worse.
