Schysma - Biography

Biography

Schysma is born from an idea of Martina (Sehnsucht) and Giorgio (former SineVolume), respectively keyboardist and bassist from Purpleknights. The guys, after years of live performances with the band in many rock metal clubs in Northern Italy, decided to slow the pace of live to devote themselves to the composition of original pieces.
In September 2009 they began to write the first pieces as Purpleknights. The first compositions, although still at an embryonic stage, show a clear change of style from the hard rock - metal that they used to play. They approach a new style characterized by a progressive and scratchy guitar sound, full of complex rhythms and time changes.
Unfortunately the new project creates friction within the band members and, within a year, Purpleknights dissolve completely.
Martina and Giorgio, however, are motivated to pursue the project because, despite the frictions, it led to several songs and a lot of ideas to work on. They decide to recreate the band and started to look for new musicians who want to be involved in this new project.
So, finally Schysma was born in the middle of 2011 when Martina and Giorgio, after countless auditions, join two great musicians who also show great enthusiasm and desire to make great music. Luca (former Onderock, former Yanus) and Vladi (Babylon) are the drummer and guitarist. Luca stands for a powerful and precise drumming that blends well with the style of the pieces making them even stronger. As excellent drummer, Luca, is also revealed as brilliant composer, proposing new ideas that quickly become songs. Vladi is already known by the guys to be a great guitarist with a great technique and excellent cleaning performance. They contacted him, let him hear the first recordings, and offered him to join them. Obviously Vladi has carte blanche and immediately shows in addition to his perfect technique a fine musical taste that will create innovative pieces.
The mission of the band is to produce original metal songs characterized by a modern sound, trying to create a new style. The musicians are all there, now they are missing only a worthy singer.
Ricky (Ananke) joins the boys in 2012. Formation is complete.
The four musicians' minds at work influence all the songs creating a progressive metal with a strong impact from the first listening. The industrial sound brought by the keyboard is perfectly melted to the powerful rhythm section in classic metal style. The guitar interludes inserts progressive elements, defining the style of the band. Finally, the powerful voice of Ricky completes their style. He inserts in the songs some parts sang with the growl technique, alternating clean and expressive vocal parts.
In September 2012 they released their first E.P., "Imperfect Dichotomy"...it's time to make History!
