Hailing from the North West shipbuilding town of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, Volition play despondent doom with authentic conviction. Formed from ex members of Bosseye and Doomflight, Volition have often been compared to revered bands Winter and Corrupted. The band released a live CD-R in early 2006 which led to the band signing a two album deal with the Israeli based label Total Rust Music, at the labels request they released demo CD-R in early 2007.

Volition recorded their debut album at the Studio 1in12 in Bradford and utilized the immensely capable skills of Bri Doom (Lazarus Blackstar). The album features 8 songs that will play out just under an hour and is out now.

The band are also going to be part of the Bastard Noise 'Our Earths Blood IV' 5 CD boxed set, with a reworked version of Pathogen.

Volition have shared the stage with Raging Speedhorn, Blood Island Raiders, Atavist, Narcosis, Raucous, Thade and The Freezing Fog amongst others.
