Biography

Empyrean is an extreme metal sextet from Brisbane, Australia with widely spanning inspiration from melodic, dark and symphonic soundscapes.

After solidifying a dedicated and cohesive line up in late 2006, Empyrean entered studio Anderz Debeerz to record their debut EP, 'Embodiment Of Sin.' Launching the CD to widespread praise, the band then spent 2007 writing new material whilst touring across Australia.

2008 saw the release of the 'Pleasure of Another's Pain' video clip (produced by Rome Ramsies; Mudvayne, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth), and now, after spending a couple years firmly establishing their place within the Australian metal scene; after touring throughout Australia; and after sharing the stage with the likes of Dark Tranquillity (Swe), Vader (Pol), Insision (Swe), Clutch (USA), Iron Lung (USA), Psycroptic, The Amenta, Alarum, Alchemist and more; EMPYREAN are ready to unveil their full potential to the world, and it is called 'Quietus'.

Having entered Studio Anders Debeerz with Adam Merker (Wish for Wings, Phalanx) in April 2008 to record their debut full length album, it was then released through Prime Cuts Music on December 15, 2008. Mastered in Bialystok, Poland at Hertz Studios by Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy (Hate, Kronos, Vader), Empyrean have compiled a darker, more complex and ultimately more mature release that is surely set to ignite the passion of metal fans the world over. Taking their brand of symphonic death metal to a whole other level, this marks a release not to be missed by any fan of quality heavy metal!
