Biography

Bejelit is an Italian band formed in 2000 by musicians who desired to pay homage to the big-name bands of the '80s and '90s such as Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, and Blind Guardian. Since the band's inception the members have worked on their own material in spite of the obvious influences of the aforementioned bands. The band was founded by Sandro Capone (guitars) and Fabio Privitera (vocals). Giorgio Novarino (bass), Giulio Capone (drums/keyboards) and Daniele Genugu (guitars) eventually made their way into the band's full-time line-up to help establish Bejelit as a force in the metal community. Bejelit focus their energy on two key elements in their compositions: rhythmic strength and catchy melodies, adding to the band's distinctive sound.

"Bones And Evil", the band's promo debut, was released in 2002, which led to the band signing their first record deal with Battle Hymns. With a strong management teams, Bejelit released their full-length debut, "Hellgate", in 2004. The album was positively received by critics, as depicted by raving reviews from the likes of Metal Hammer and Metal Maniacs, resulting in strong sales despite the relatively unknown backgrounds of the band members.

In 2006 the band released their second full-length album, "Age Of Wars" on Old Ones Records. The album followed up nicely to their debut, proving Bejelit to be more than a one-trick pony. In 2007 Bejelit began works on material for another album, meanwhile the band is in demand for more live performances which extend the length of an entire year, a level of success normally reserved for a band with more experience. With this live success and a persevering presence on the stage, Bejelit formed their own fanbase, which ultimately led to the band performing at Metal Camp in 2008 alongside bands like Carcass and In Flames as a result of an online vote.

Once things began to settle down, Bejelit returned to the studio with new material in hand in order to begin the recording sessions of their third album, "You Die And I...", which was released in February 2010 on Punishment 18 Records.
