Biography

It"s way back in 1997 that Kristendom decided to come together and play Atmospheric Thrash/Death in the vein of At The Gates, Slayer, Pantera and Sepultura. Their appearance on several compilations in "97 and "98, on "Shiver" among others, soon made their name popular. The Shiver compilation, which was in fact produced by the band"s singer, was largely appreciated in France, Switzerland, the Benelux and Canada. With their first demo in hand, Kristendom managed to play about 30 live gigs in the entire French territory. In "99, the band released its first album "Operator Dead... Post Abandon". It was distributed by Musea at over 800 copies and got excellent media coverage. One year later, the second album "From Within" was produced by Osmose productions. Over 1000 copies were sold of it in France and about 2200 fans abroad also bought the CD. Excellent response to the band"s music allowed them to tour with the likes of Gloomy Grim, Impaled Nazarene and SUP. Both albums got Kristendom a review in all the specialized magazines (Hard Rock Mag, Metallian, Hard"n"Heavy, Hard Force...) as well as a track on each mag sampler and a video of "Freak Of Nature" on the Hard Force CD. The band also starred in Hard"n"Heavy"s radio top list for a long time. "Inferno", the third album, is a genuine leap forward for Kristendom, as it represents the band"s gradual evolution in the field of technique and composition skills. Again, Alexis Phelipot (Misanthrope, Dying Tears, ...) delivered a great job behind the console to give this much acclaimed album the finish it deserves. "Inferno" proves that Thrash/Death can be a very expressive subgenre. Diversified by a multitude of influences, this album carries you off into abysses of sound and vicious violence.

In 2005, the band released its last album, Awakening The Chaos. In addition, their label Thundering Record decided to re-release all their first albums.
