Biography

Hypoxia started as a project with Carlos and Carolina who started jamming together with the goal of playing some old-school death metal and also playing some covers. The name then was Aether. Michael Diangelo was the vocalist.

This soon became more than a project. When auditioning for band members Mark Sokoll joined as the bass guitarist and Mike Bergin became the vocalist. Hypoxia then recorded their first demo called The Purge.

After Hypoxia's first show in May of 2011, Mike left the band and Johnny Pye joined as the new vocalist. In 2013 Johnny left the band and got replaced by Jerry Iovino, shortly after they recorded the 5 song album Public Execution.

In 2014 more changes was about to happen, first Mark left on bass and Mikaela Decibel filled the position in January. A few months later they decided to take in another guitarist to get a heavier sound and found Nadher Tabash. In early 2015 Jerry and Mikaela departed from the band. Enter Mike Hrubovcak on vocals. New album Despondent Death expected to drop in the fall of 2015.
