I would agree that if borders did not exist all of those things have nothing to do with the nation.

At the nation level is is precisely that. At the state level it is hard to apply individually, but we've talked mostly about countries so far, which is technically the wrong term to investigate here.

so does our country and I have a sense of patriotism that goes along with that. But imo equating patriotism at the individual level to nationalism at the state or national level is a false equivalency.

and realize that you can be proud of being part of a community and country even if every millennia old issue isn’t solved. I like to think our community benefits from us being a part of it, and because of that,
