Tracks

01. Raise The Flails

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
Pull the trigger,
Bend the bow,
Wield your mighty lances!
It's time for new tales of resistance!

02. The Smell Of Ancient Dust

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
This that rests inside us,
The innate ability to resist.
Ability generations learned,
A mistrusting hatred centuries earned,
The knowledge of the flung projectile,
The cleansing power of the burning street,
The loathing of the ruling hand,
The crackers gaze,
The constructed grip.

Your birthright accessed,
The suffering that picks the lock,
A bank of knowledge a skill a gift.

Comfort has led us to this hibernation
The struggle, less visible, has allowed us to forget.

But rouse, stir,
Reach for projectiles
This is a hatred you were born for,
A dignity to flaunt.
A health that is in you,
The inherited legacy,
That will trigger your ability to revolt.

03. Like Smoke Into Fog

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
So an ode to the reformists
That moralise peace and civility,
You untouched by the violence,
blind to mighty march of flames.

To the officers that didn't pull the trigger
Yet find the guilt uncomfortable,
Tear off and burn that uniform
Or become equally culpable.

As one candle gutters and dies
As it exhales smoke for the very last time,
A thousand flames ignite from this,
Every cinder builds the furnace.

From the bailiffs to the judges
On which capitalism depends,
Quickly the day comes thundering
When we will seek revenge.
Set fire to the courthouse
And its ledgers,
Burn their deportation orders!
And save accelerant for the devils
That enforce the borders.

A bullet for the homophobic priests;
Glibly they alot us status,
Our longing for acceptance
Is weaponised against us.
You'll never get your filthy hands
All soaked in tears and years of blood
On the one thing we would die without,
How dare you target love.

As one candle gutters and dies,
As it exhales smoke for the very last time,
A thousand flames ignite from this,
Every cinder build the furnace.

04. To All, To All, To All!

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
Oh, what a travesty
To think that nothing is wrong
And suffer
The sadness anyway.

Shall we blame the light?
The lack of it?

Our star burns constantly
with an unbearable fire
yet still holds our head
Under nights surface!
A winters gasp enough to survive,
To hold on, to hold on!
And believe in day, in happiness,
In the confidence of warmth.

Can I hold my breath through this?
Can I hold my breath through this?

Did I waste enough of the summer
On tillage and hoarding?
Did I worry enough
To worry again,
Is this every year?
Have I lost enough of the day
To survive the night?
And time away from family,
From lovers, from songs?

I hate this!
Work is the shackle
Debt is the cage.

05. A Time For Courage At The Borderlands

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
When the sea that stole your loved ones
Is still safer than the land,
When the forest dies,
The water dries,
The soil turns to sand.

Stay and watch your children die
Or run and they might survive,
Evade the pigs at the border,
Unflinchingly ruining peoples lives.

Can you imagine the horror
Of a fence they won't let you through?
Another country refusing help,
What if that was you?

What if what was needed
Was another pair of hands,
Active solidarity,
The skills that you have?
What if all it took
To help get people through
Was someone else who could resist,
What if that was you?

06. Songs In The Key Of Compromise

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
A truly meagre blasphemy
And in truth
It serves as a contribution
To the conventions you claim to oppose.

Two sides of a worthless coin,
Two sides of a worthless coin!
A complicit supposed hostility

That serves both and challenges neither.
All the bluster, all the false antagonism
Is all part of the dichotomy.

All the bluster, all the false antagonism
Is all part of the dichotomy.
One had puppets Christ
The other wields Satan,
But it is the same wretch
That skulks behind the curtain.

And when faced with true dissent,
When shown the revolutionaries path
You cry moral outrage
And stand in defence of governance.
You are pathetic
A shill, a lousy heretic,
A drudge of the order
you imagine you offend.

07. Until The Forge Goes Cold

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
In comfort some forgot
What was done to keep us here
Drunk on former victories,
Time sanitised, context lost!

Quietly they forgot,
Well we did not.

And when they asked us to kneel,
Fascism is the hand that keeps us down,
At the first sign of resistance,
The state begins to unleash the hounds.

As the wealth bled back from the colonies
And lubricates the citadels
The fascist wretch, no longer needed,
Slunk away, now out of favour.

But soon enough the rivers run dry,
We fucked the land,
We drained the wells,
The wealth, once so freely gifted,
Was recalled from working peoples hands.

Quietly they forgot,
Well we did not.
The resistance is rekindled,
The skills are all still here,
What was sleeping now awakes,
The knife still sharp after all these years!

08. A Stone's Throw

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
As the life glow falters,
As the landscape darkens,
Where is your fame-ed
Love of the land.

Your wreak a blight upon the ground
To ratify your precious state.
Tell me what you know of love
I'll show you what we mean by hate.

09. Soon Will Be The Age Of Lessons Learnt

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
The executors of chaos
The inheritors of death.
We won't even be forgotten,
There'll be no one left to forget.

Only in their death
Will our debt be erased,
And we wait,
Build,grow, agitate.
As the ice melts and the ocean swells
All our masters are building is hell.

The anticipation, the unsatisfiable hunger,
The knowing but not ever knowing.

As the last trees are murdered
And the insects are dying in droves,
Death crawls up the chain.

10. Salvation Rite

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
The rivers turn to spite us
By slowly feeding us poison,
The sea spits at us debris
On which its slowly choking.

One by one, the beasts and creatures resignedly turn to exit,
This plain which every second,
Is less worth the fight of saving.

I wonder if the animals know something's wrong,
At least the ones we haven't enslaved.
I wonder if the animals know something's wrong,
Do they think that they are to blame?
I wonder if they have stories,
Some beautifully written lore,
A tragically useless explanation,
Equal in delusion to the religions of men?

Liminal:
The start of the insurrection,
The inevitable hurtling chaos,
The slowly dawning realisation,
Of the ardour that faces us.

Liminal:
The absurdity, the terror,
The reluctant understanding,
The actions we must make
would be deliverance and cessation.

11. The Curse, The Dappled Light

Music & lyrics by Dawn Ray'd
Even the politicians marvel
That you still believe
They would deem
To serve you.

The land lies groaning,
The mountains huddle closer
For fear of what
The coming years will bring.
Those who tricked us once
Have come back round to try again.

Why won't you admit
Its only ever gotten worse?

Your vote adds weight to all they threaten,
Your trust the only mandate that they need.
And if they crush our fierce rebellion,
If they stamp out defiance-light,
I'd sooner cast off subordination
And believe in reprisal, and die for spite.

And even if the fights forgotten
And our rebellion is erased.
As the rubble of resistance buries us,
We'll never lie in cowards graves.
