Collin - 01.06.2007 at 14:09
Guess who's finally gonna be at Hellfest?

I still need to decide whether I'll arrive on Friday night or Saturday morning though. I live on the other side of France, near Switzerland, and I can't have my friday off so I don't know if it's a good idea to arrive at 11pm on Friday. Ah whatever, I'm happy I can go there, even only for two days

Jeff - 07.06.2007 at 19:17
Ficke, I will let you know when all the people of Metal Storm will drink a beer together... you'll have to find 2 minutes to drink one with us!

In two words... prepare your beers...

PS: to all the people who still don't know it... Ficke is one of the members of the Hellfest organization... So if you have some "thx" or "congratulations" or anything else to say about the fest...
Baz Anderson - 07.06.2007 at 19:44
haha I had my suspicions that he had something more to do with the festival
but indeed, well done for getting such a great line-up.. hopefully my first open air experience will be a fantastic one!

wrathchild - 10.06.2007 at 13:54
Like I said in the last news thread, I'm just gonna try to see as many bands as I can and if one is catching my attention then I'll attend their show for more than 5 minutes. And if nothing is interesting, I'll rest.

But there are a few bands I'm sure I'll attend every minute of their show:

Saturday
11:30-12:30 Grum Lee (Clisson)

19:50-20:40 Pain Of Salvation (main stage)
21:20-22:20 Children Of Bodom (main stage)
00:00-01:00 Therion (gibson stage)
(and perhaps Moonspell too)

Sunday
11:30-12:30 Grum Lee (Clisson)

13:30-14:00 Manigance (gibson stage)
14:30-15:00 Ephel Duath (gibson stage)
21:20-22:20 Megadeth (main stage)
22:20-23:00 Blind Guardian (gibson stage)
23:00-00:00 Dream Theater (main stage)

About to make the pilgrimage from the North of England (Cumbria) in 6 hours. Nothing but me, a map and hope (that i might be like a pigeon and home-in on Clisson). Have about 8 cans of Red Bull. If the car gets there expect a brass band to be set-up too.
Daru Jericho - 21.06.2007 at 00:24
I'll look out of the MS tent. Man, I'm really excited. Will be with the boyfriend so say hi if you see me because I'm probably too shy to say hi to you XD

well my Friday band watching starts at 16:00 and finishes when Korn finish their set - so either we'll go very early or very late. hahaha
I am going to get some money changed into Euros tomorrow morning

Mine starts at 15:00 with Dylath-Leen (on the discover stage). Don't know what it's like live, but their only album is excellent.

I'll look out of the MS tent. Man, I'm really excited. Will be with the boyfriend so say hi if you see me because I'm probably too shy to say hi to you XD

Shy ? Don't be! Aren't you proud to be recognized as a metalstorm knight

Nah, it's not that. I'm just a shy person But yeah, if not I'll get Baz to introduce me to everyone! Hoping that he talks to me first on the ferry!

Also, my first band is at 14:00 - Dew-Scented so I gotta get up early for that one

See y'all there!

Ok, so, I'm back from Hellfest. That sure was a good name, for sometimes it was more some sort of hell than a real party, especially for those staying in the muddy camping...

But well, the first thing I want to say is please don't blame the organizers too much, if it hadn't rain that much I'm quite sure the complaints would have been limited. Although yes, I wish they make sure the same mistakes don't happen in the future.
For those who weren't there, I'll sum up the situation: a very instable weather that turned the camping and festival grounds into lakes of mud and an underestimated amount of people. This and the "typical" organization problems such as delays... It was not easy to deal with everything.

Nevertheless, Hellfest 2007 was great! Loads of good shows (everyone could find something they had a real interest in), a good sound, good lights and of course, a few Metalstormers I'm so glad I finally meet!
Although in fact, I met only MS staff members and I think I saw Daru when we were about to leave. Too bad our flag(s) could hardly be seen.

In the end, a good experience (and I've learnt a lot about camping!) and I sure would like it to happen again in better conditions.

Oh, and Grum Lee was GREAT!

I agree with Wrath here... the MAIN problem was the weather...

But we also had some problems with the organisation... as an example, TOO many photographs and not a good organisation in the photo pit... we had to wait something like 15 mins to take some few pictures and well... in the end I tried to take some pics the friday afternoon and totally stop to try that in the evening...

Sorry for the ones who wanted to see bands pictures... I was there to have fun too, not to wait in a queue to miss all the concerts... (BUT I will probably find a way to put some pictures on MS from a friend photograph)

Yeah, the problems... Don't want to talk about it just now.

But the shows... WOW !
So many great bands I've seen...
I suppose we'll be working to put online a good article (or three) about it all. With interviews and news, too !
AWESOME (I'm still singing)
