Sad news to report as former Death's bassist Scott Clendenin has passed away. He was a bassist in the seminal death metallers for a few years and also played in Chuck Schuldiner's other band Control Denied. Scott Clendenin had some health challenges in the last few years. He played on Death's The Sound Of Perseverance album, and recently participated in two Death To All live runs, in 2012 and 2013, including the highlight of his acoustic guitar in a poignant rendition of "Voice Of The Soul". Our condolences to his family and friends.

The coroner's report lists the official cause of death as "mixed prescription drug (oxycodone, hydromorphone, alprazolam) with alcohol toxicity" and the "manner of death" is stated as "natural."
