Marduk fans have something to be excited about! While you had to wait a few years for the follow-up to Serpent Sermon, the good news is that the Swedish black metal band is working on their next album. Marduk are in the studio at the moment to record their new album called Frontschwein which is planned to be released in January 2015 through Century Media Records. And that is all we know so far but you can mark your calendars and start anticipating it.
Century Media Records announced the reissues of the Marduk albums La Grande Danse Macabre (2001) and World Funeral (2003) set for release on June 23rd, 2014 in Europe and June 24th in the US. Both albums have been out of print for quite a while and will now be released in revamped editions featuring new covers by Maelstrom (vocalist in label mates Death Wolf), liner notes, rare photos from the band's archive and bonus tracks on the CDs / digital albums. Both titles were also remastered by current Marduk bassist Devo Andersson.
Due to problems with a nerve in the spine, drummer Lars Broddesson of Swedish black metallers Marduk will be unable to join his bandmates on their upcoming European tour with Grave, Death Wolf and Valkyrja. Filling in for him will be Fredrik Widigs. On this tour, the band is performing the albums Those Of The Unlight and Panzer Division Marduk.
As Swedish black metal horde Marduk is finalizing the plans for the last run of dates of the "Serpent Sermon 2012/2013 World Tour", they are pleased to announce that they will be doing a selection of tour dates in Sweden this October. Portuguese gothic metallers Moonspell have announced the complete list of tour dates for their Voices From The Dark North American tour that they will co-headline with Marduk next February/March. Swedish black metal outfit Marduk, together with their booking agency Massive Music, have cancelled the band's upcoming November tour dubbed Serpent Sermon North Tour 2012 due to problems with logistics and planning. All dates will be postponed to spring next year.
