English doom sludgers Grimpen Mire have shocking news to share. They have informed that the band's bassist/vocalist Paul van Linden has died. The trio is now reduced to drummer Ian Davis and guitarist/vocalist Jim Goad. The members didn't divulge any details regarding his death.

Rising are back! It's been two years since the former line-up broke up and the future seemed uncertain. Now, after two years of consistent writing and working, the sludge metallers from Denmark can present the new Rising line-up and their plans for the near future. Rivers Of Nihil - Announce New Album, Streaming New Song

Technical death metallers Rivers Of Nihil have announced the release Monarchy, the band's second full-length and follow-up to 2013's The Conscious Seed of Light, due out August 21st through Metal Blade Records, available for pre-order here. Monarchy features the band's new members, drummer Alan Balamut and guitarist Jon Topore, and artwork by the self-taught and talented artist Dan Seagrave.

Sepultura - Share Lyric Video For New Song

Last week, Brazilian metal icons Sepultura released their vinyl EP Sepultura Under My Skin to celebrate their 30th anniversary by thanking their fans in a special way. The band asked fans to contribute to the artwork for their EP. The artwork of this release is created by the tattoos of Sepultura fans all over the world. Meshuggah - Plan To Record New Album In 2016

Meshuggah haven't said much about a new album until now. Koloss, their latest record, was released back in 2012. Since then, the band has released an EP and a DVD and also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the recording of their first EP. According to a recent interview of guitarist Mårten Hagström, the plan is to record the upcoming album next year. The band should focus exclusively on writing new material after August.

Otep - Singer Assaulted On Stage, Hits Back

After allegedly being sexually assaulted by the former frontman of Terror Universal, singer Otep Shamaya was reportedly nearly attacked by an audience member at the band's show in Belvidere, Illinois on June 7th. He rushed the stage, and she hit him with the microphone to defend herself. Otep's singer has now released a statement regarding the assault incident. No word yet on if any charges are being pressed.

The SLoT - Drummer Steps Down, Replacement Announced

Last week, Russian alternative metallers The SLoT revealed that longtime drummer Kirill "The Dude" Kachanov would be stepping down from the kit after 11 years of service. While they did not go into detail about the reasons for his departure, the band stated that they parted as friends and that they wish The Dude well in his future projects.
