Avantasia - New Album And Tour In 2016

As it turns out, fans of Avantasia won't have to wait that long for the follow-up to The Mystery Of Time. In fact, in January 2016, Avantasia are going to release the sequel to The Mystery Of Time. The next chapter of the saga will be called Ghostlights. After an Edguy album last year, Tobias Sammet has been keeping himself busy. In March, the all-star ensemble will kick off the Ghostlights world tour, and the tickets are on presale now. Who's excited about the new album?

Animals As Leaders - Stream Previously Unreleased Track

Remember Animals As Leaders' glorious 2009 self-titled debut album? Well, but there is a song from it you haven't heard yet. It's called "Kalimba" and it has now been shared online. The track appears on the expanded "encore edition" of Animals As Leaders that Prosthetic Records just released. You can check out if you like it or not below. Burton C. Bell - Releasing Graphic Novel 'The Industrialist'

Fear Factory have a lot on their plate right now. Apart from a new album being released in August, Genexus, the band will be touring in Europe later this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the classic album Demanufacture. Furthermore, the frontman Burton C. Bell is also releasing his first graphic novel, The Industrialist. This will be an independent, limited edition release.

Scorpions - 'Taken By Force' And 'Tokyo Tapes' To Be Reissued

Tokyo Tapes (1978), the first live album by the German hard rock band Scorpions, and Taken By Force (1977), the group's fifth studio album and the final effort to feature guitarist Uli Jon Roth, will be re-released in November 2015. Both reissues will feature many previously unreleased tracks, including demo versions of some of the most important songs dating back to 1977.

16 - Enter The Studio

California sludge trailblazers 16 have commenced recording the follow-up to their latest album, 2012's Deep Cuts From Dark Clouds. For the as-yet-untitled new album, the band is once again reunited with producer/engineer Jeff Forrest. Ferry and vocalist Cris Jerue are also joined by drummer Dion Thurman of San Diego noise rockers Creedle, and bassist Barney Firks (Sylvia Juncosa). Potential song titles include "Pastor In A Coma," "George," "Peaches, Cream, And Placenta" and "Secrets Of The Curmudgeon."

W.A.S.P. - Part Ways With Drummer, Reveal Album Details

W.A.S.P. long-time drummer, Mike Dupke, has posted a message on his Facebook page stating that he is no longer in the band and that they are, at least apparently in good terms. He has been W.A.S.P.'s drummer since 2006, and now his nine year stint has ended. W.A.S.P. have yet to name a replacement. W.A.S.P. are gearing up to release a new album titled Golgotha this October 2nd and the details like cover artwork and tracklist have just been revealed as well.

Borknagar - New Album Finished

Bassist/vocalist ICS Vortex and Borknagar have confirmed that Borknagar's new album is finally completed. This will be good news for the fans of the band who have been waiting for the follow-up to Urd (2012) for a while now. The master "tape" of their new album was officially delivered to their label Century Media Records. According to guitarist Øystein Garnes Brun, the album will contain 8 songs for the standard version and a limited version of the album will have an extra song.

Hatriot - Steve Souza Stepping Down As Vocalist

Maybe it was predictable after Hatriot's vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza returned to Exodus but he is stepping down as the singer in the band. While initially it was agreed that he would perform in both bands full time, that is not possible anymore. Bassist Cody Souza is taking over vocal duties in Hatriot. Steve "Zetro" Souza is not leaving the band though and will assist in running operations, writing lyrics, and overseeing the band.

Solitude Productions 10th Anniversary - And Doom Giveaway Contest!

Only July 16th, our droogs at Solitude Productions will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary. 3,650 days and plenty of doom albums later they want to share their wealth with you, oh discerning doomster.

We've paired with them to celebrate.

On turning 10, quoth Solitude Productions, "During this time we've made over 200 releases! We decided to make a competition for our friends and doom-metal lovers. It's an opportunity to win three CDs, produced especially for the celebration date: two new releases in digipack and exclusive compilation with previously unreleased on CD tracks from bands signed to the label."

SO here is what is going to happen. Below there are snippets of 5 album covers released by Solitude Productions. First five people to chime in (message) to BitterCOld with each album correctly named will be judged to be almost as DoomCool as Marcel, and will thus receive the prize. Post answers on the thread below, well, you lose and will be nuked.

Winners to be announced on July 16.

We will add clues in a couple days if you lot can't sort this out.
