Dream Theater - To Enter Studio In February

Singer James LaBrie of progressive metal giants Dream Theater has recently revealed to Simcoe.com that the band will enter the studio in February to create the follow-up to 2013's Dream Theater album which he said he expects to be released next fall. Sabaton - Announce 'Sabaton Open Air Germany'

Swedish power metal heroes Sabaton have just announced a new and very special kind of festival. There is the Sabaton Open Air/Rockstad:Falun festival in their hometown Falun, the Sabaton Cruise on the Baltic Sea and now there is also Sabaton Open Air/Noch ein Bier Fest in Germany! For a long time, Sabaton have had plans to do a special and unique event in Germany and that will become reality now on July 25th with several special guests.

Kingcrow - Releasing New Album

Italian proggers Kingcrow are releasing a new album. Two years after they released the interesting In Crescendo record, this upcoming spring they will be offering us Eidos, which is the title of the upcoming album. It will be released via Sensory Records. The album was recorded at Sound Under Pressure in Rome, produced by Diego Cafolla and Thundra and mixed by Giampiero Ulacco. Cattle Decapitation - Mosh Pit Stabbing At Band's Show

Cattle Decapitation's show last night didn't go according to plan. NBCLA reports that a man was knocked out by an angry crowd after allegedly slashing a person at a show at La Habra 300 Bowl in California. Reports indicate that a man was unhappy after being pushed around in the pit, and then took out a knife and stabbed another person on the neck. Other attendees quickly sprung into action and collectively attacked the knife-wielding man and knocked him unconscious. Meanwhile, the band has also released a statement about the incident.

Uli Jon Roth - To Release 'Scorpions Revisited'

Guitar maestro Uli Jon Roth is set to release a double-disc collection of 19 re-imagined Scorpions classics called Scorpions Revisited via UDR. Pre-orders for the album will be available soon. Uli Jon Roth was a member of Scorpions and in 2013, he found himself intrigued by the memory of those early days which began 40 years ago, and specifically by the music he helped write, perform and occasionally sing on the albums Fly To The Rainbow, In Trance, Virgin Killer and Taken By Force. It lead to Roth deciding to spend a year re-visiting, exploring, performing and re-recording his favorite Scorpions songs.

Mardelas - Announce Debut Album

Japanese heavy metallers Mardelas are to release their as-yet untitled debut album on April 22nd via King Records. Formed last year by frontwoman Marina Hebiishi following her exit from Destrose, the band also features Hibiki and Yumi, the rhythm section of power metallers Light Bringer, and guitarist Kikyo Oikawa of Screaming Symphony. The outfit first emerged back in October, with the release of single Daybreak / Phantasia. You can listen to demo versions of both songs below.

Rise To Remain - Split Up

Rise To Remain is no more with only one album released in 2011. The metalcore band from the UK was fronted by singer Austin Dickinson, son of Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden's frontman. The band posted some future plans, after splitting up Rise To Remain following the departures of drummer Adam Lewin and guitarist Ben Tovey. Vocalist Austin, guitarist Will Homer and bassist Conor O'Keefe will continue working together in a new project called As Lions.
