Slayer - North American Tour With Rob Zombie, Exodus

Get ready for hell on earth, because for the first time since they tour together on Ozzfest 1999, Rob Zombie and Slayer are teaming up to hit the road, bringing a glorious purgatory to fans in 12 North American cities.

Both Zombie and Slayer will present their full headline sets at every show, and both bands will close shows over the course of the tour. San Francisco's thrash-metal band Exodus has been confirmed to open all shows.

Said Slayer's Kerry King: "We haven't toured with Zombie since Ozzfest 1999, so you can expect no less than 'hell on earth'. Total sonic annihilation and a visual bludgeoning. Bring your own body bag..."

"Total destruction on stage and off is what this combination promises," states Zombie, "Seriously, how much more Hell could you ask for? The answer is none more Hell."

Slayer has been performing its classic 1990 Seasons In the Abyss album in its entirety over the past several months, but will instead draw from its entire 30-year catalogue for this tour's setlist. Never one to play it safe, Zombie will be bringing his legendary stage show out in full force. Audiences can expect an exploding non-stop barrage of sin, sex and Satan guaranteed to rip your face off. This a truerock and roll spectacle at its finest.

Slayer - Exodus Guitarist Filling In On Tour

Last weekend, we brought you the news that Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman is recovering from an emergency surgery on his right arm after contracting necrotizing fasciitis (commonly known as flesh-eating disease), possibly caused by a spider bite.

The injury will keep the guitarist sidelined from the band's upcoming live shows in the Australian Soundwave Festival tour, that is set to kick off on February 26.

None other than Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has now stepped in to replace Hanneman on this tour.

Exodus - New Video Online

"Downfall", the new video from San Francisco Bay Area metallers Exodus, can now be viewed below. The clip was helmed by SchneppZone director Jon Schnepp of Metalocalypse fame (y'know, the animated program about Dethklok on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim) and was shot on April 1 on the old set of the television sitcom "Night Court". In addition, it features animated sequences by Los Angeles-based traditional animator Jeremy Polgar.

About getting to work with Exodus again, Jon Schnepp stated: "I think their music is incredible and they always give me 100% at the video shoot. Working with these legends of thrash metal again has been a blast!"

"Downfall" is taken from the band's latest album Exhibit B: The Human Condition, released back in May.

(IMPORTANT: Viewers who are epileptic or prone to seizures are asked not to view this video due to its strobing effect!)

Guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt shares the background on the newly uploaded song: "We decided to give everybody another taste of the new record... and it's about one of America's favorite pastimes, the school shooting. This song was primarily inspired by the massacre at Virginia Tech, as well as Columbine and the many other instances of unhinged individuals who decided to take out their wrath on their classmates, going all the way back to (University of Texas at Austin's 1966 tower sniper) Charles J. Whitman."

Exodus - New Album Details Revealed, Song Online

Original news, posted on 23.12.2009

San Francisco's Exodus have named their ninth studio album Exhibit B: The Human Condition. The band are currently recording in Northern California with Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Kreator). The album is expected to be released in Spring 2010.

A brand new song, entitled "Good Riddance," which will appear on the forthcoming CD is available for streaming in the YouTube clip here (as premiered during an Exodus live web stream on December 19).

Exodus will soon be on tour with Arch Enemy, Arsis, and Mutiny Within on the Tyrants Of Evil tour, which launches in Towson, Maryland on January 20th, 2010.

UPDATED on 26.02.2010 (thanks to BudDa and Dahalak)

Exodus will be releasing their ninth studio album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition, this spring. The cover artwork will look like this.

Guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt checks in about what the band was looking to capture art-wise and why the final version chosen nailed it: "We wanted to portray the violence of man at its finest, so we started with our own version of the Leonardo da Vinci sketch , but done the Exodus way! I was pointed in the direction of Colin Larks of Rainsong Design for the cover and he killed it! To me, the artwork represents man and his affinity for bloodshed, ignorance, and all-around ability to be led like sheep to the slaughter. The image fits the songs on this record perfectly. The whole layout is going to as sick as the record itself!"

Exhibit B: The Human Condition was recorded this past December in Northern California with producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Kreator).

UPDATE (thanks to BudDa)

Exodus have uploaded "Hammer And Life," a new track off their upcoming May 18th release, Exhibit B: The Human Condition, onto their MySpace player.

Guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt shares the background on the new song: "We decided to put up an early rough mix of "Hammer And Life" to give everybody a little taste of the new record. The really fast songs you'll get soon enough! This song is inspired by the one and only Paul Baloff, our ode to him. Paul was always the hammer in Exodus and he lived for metal more than anyone I've ever known. R.I.P."
