KISS - Confirm New Album

The following story is courtesy of World Entertainment News Network:

Glam rockers KISS have shot down rumors the band is retiring, by confirming they will be recording a new album.

Earlier this year it was reported the group was planning a reality TV show to audition replacement bandmembers, because founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were getting too old to rock.

Frontman Stanley has now admitted that rumors about a new album are true, and they are currently back in the studio working on new tunes - and he's promising a treat for fans of the band's original 1970's sound.

Stanley tells Askmen.com, "It's going to be very much a vintage, classic, 70's KISS album without much regard to what's happened since then; it's back to the roots."

KISS - Former Guitarist Mark St. John Died

KNAC.COM air personality Junkman just checked in with the following sad news:

"Just got a call this afternoon stating that my friend, former Kiss guitarist Mark St. John, died this morning from a cerebral hemorrage. He was 51.

I have known him for a long time. I roadied for his band White Tiger, and just spoke with him at the recent NAMM show.

As soon as I fid out more info I will let you know. My heart goes out to his family. A very sad day.

Junkie"

Mark replaced Vinnie Vincent as lead guitarist for KISS in April 1984, following Vincent's falling-out with the band (Mark was suggested to Bruce Kulick was featured on the song, "Lonely Is The Hunter"). During work for the album, St. John clashed with the other members of the band, and eventually developed arthritis (Reiter's Syndrome), which caused his hands and arms to swell. He was all but unable to perform live as a member of KISS, and only played three (one in full) shows during the "Animalize" tour, with Kulick filling in for the rest. He was officially replaced by Kulick in December 8, 1984.

Kiss Wants All Your Money Again...

According to KissKollector.com, the very first KISSWorld store is scheduled to open in Australia next month. During the recent Australian tour, the four KISS members spent a few hours to sign the very first items to be sold at KISSWorld. Store representatives will travel to the USA soon to meet with all current and former band members, to bring back a container full of "really cool" stuff for the opening of the store in September. The bricks of the store have been laid, the windows are in and very soon they will commence fitting out the store from floor to ceiling with some amazing KISS merchandise. There are several KISSWorld exclusive products being manufactured right now that won't be available anywhere else.

The fit out of the store is enormous; there will be everything from guitars to shirts and other clothing, to museum pieces through to an amazing array of hand-signed and personal items that need to be displayed. The process will take up all of this month. The opening date for September will be announced as soon as possible, along with the exact location of KISSWorld. The store itself is over 10,000 square feet in size and obviously KISS will be the centre of attention in our store, but there will also be some bands' memorabilia and even some sporting heroes and film stars.

For more information, visit www.kissworld.net.
