Obscura - Start New Album Recordings

There's good news for Obscura fans today. It looks like you won't have to wait as long for the follow-up to Akróasis (2016) since the band has already started the recordings for a new studio album. It was bassist Linus Klausenitzer who announced the news via a video posted on the tech death metal band's Facebook page.

Obscura - Premiere Video, Announce Euro Tour

Two new updates from Obscura! First, in touring news, the German prog/tech death metallers just announced a headlining European tour for October/November with a stellar line-up. Obscura will embark on this trek with Beyond Creation, Revocation and Rivers Of Nihil. But there is more. As of now, you can also sit back, relax and watch their new video for the tune "Ten Sepiroth", taken from the band's recent full-length, Akroasis.

Obscura - Share New Album Details, Rafael Trujillo Joins

Obscura are finally releasing a new album and the details are out in the open. Their highly-anticipated fourth full-length album is to be called Akroasis and is due out on February 5th, 2016 via Relapse Records. The aptly-named 'Akroasis' (Greek for "hearing" or "listening") draws on all the various elements of Obscura's signature sound and combines those qualities into a mind-blowing and cohesive whole. Obscura - Complete Work On New Album

After dropping off the Summer Slaughter tour due to visa problems, German technical death metal band Obscura has issued a new update on the progress of their upcoming studio album. Obscura - To Enter Studio In April, Launch Digital Tab Book

Progressive death metal masters Obscura have announced that they will enter Dreamsound Studios this April to begin recording drums for their anticipated new album and first full-length in over four years. The band will work once again with long time producer V. Santura (Cosmogenesis, Omnivium). The album will see a late 2015 release via Relapse Records and will be the first to feature new members drummer Sebastian Lanser and guitarist Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger.

Gorguts - To Reissue 'Obscura' And 'From Wisdom To Hate'

Century Media Records has announced the reissue of two groundbreaking technical death metal albums, Obscura and From Wisdom To Hate, by long-running Canadian legends Gorguts on April 6th, 2015 in Europe and April 7th in North America. These 2015 editions were created in close cooperation with Luc Lemay, who reveals the entire history of these ambitious records in the accompanying liner notes and both are dedicated to the memory of former members Steeve Hurdle (R.I.P. 2012) and Steve MacDonald (R.I.P. 2002). Obscura - New Guitarist Revealed

Obscura's complete new lineup has been revealed! A few days after they announced Sebastian Lanser as their new drummer, it's time to introduce the new guitarist that replaces Christian Muenzner. Obscura has lost drummer Hannes Grossmann and guitarist Christian Muenzner who decided to leave the German prog death metal band. The band will soon open auditions to new members.
