Some may recognise Roy Sætre Khantatat (or more commonly known as Roy Khan), former vocalist of the disbanded Norwegian progressive metal band Conception and the former vocalist of US-based symphonic power metal squad Kamelot, (aka the Voice of God). Things were unclear when Steven Wilson decided to leave his collaborational project with Aviv Geffen, known as Blackfield, back in early 2014, but in a change of heart, he had joined forces again with Blackfield last year, and the first details of its result are in: Blackfield V, the band's fifth full-length album to date, will be released on November 18th, 2016, via Kscope. The new record will feature no less than 13 tracks, that will form into a 45 minute "ocean-theme" experience.

Norwegian black metallers Emperor are set to reunite in 2017 in order to play a few exclusive appearances, the first confirmed show being at the Brutal Assault festival in the Czech Republic. The band will play numbers from their highly-acclaimed 1997 record, Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and will consist of band members Ihsahn, Samoth and Trym Torson, who was a member of the band up until 2007. These shows, however, do not give indication of whether or not Emperor are set to reunite as a permanent band.

Italian power metal veterans Rhapsody Of Fire were supposed to perform in Tel Aviv, Israel (at Havana Club) on August 3rd infront of 300 fans, after cancelling the original date, July 10th, but that show appearantly isn't going to happen either. ProgStage Productions, originizers of the concert, were reluctant and were forced to announce its cancellation. After announcing that an instrumental album is in the works, Polish progressive masterminds Riverside will soon release their official biography! The news was announced a few days ago on their Facebook page in Polish. The biography will be written by Maurice Nowakowski, and will be titled "Sen w Wysokiej Rozdzielczości" ("A Dream In High Definition"). There is no precise release date for the biography, but the band wrote that it will be published at the end of the year.
