Dark Tranquillity - Turkish Tour Dates Cancelled

Swedish metallers Dark Tranquillity have issued the following update on their official website:

"Right now, a mere 15 hours before planning to leave for the airport, we got informed by the promotor Unirock that the entire Turkish tour has been cancelled.

This is incredibly frustrating for us. Turkey is the home of some of the most passionate and devoted Dark Tranquillity fans on the planet, and we very much looked forward to the adventure of playing not only Istanbul but other cities as well.

We've spent lots of time and energy preparing for these shows; rehearsing, hiring crew, fixing merchandise and working out an enormous amount of practical and logistical details, and to see it all getting cancelled in the very last minute is extremely disappointing.

We understand that the people that planned to go to the shows will be very upset and disappointed by this news, and we want it to be crystal clear that we - the band - had no part in the cancellation.

We hope to able to return to Turkey as soon as possible."

Mar De Grises - To Re-Release First Demo

Firebox Records are re-releasing Mar De Grises' first demo, released in the early 2000's, as a digipack.

First River Regards recalls the bands first ever recordings in a special edition for their fans with their only rehersal/demo plus an extract of their stellar participation at the famed Doom Shall Rise festival in Göppingen, Germany in 2005.

The band comments: "The honest intention of making the music that we love is what magically gathers us together. We invite you to be part of this intense feeling and scream forth from the end of the earth, forgetting for one moment how ephemeral this life can be as this is what feeds our emotions. This re-edition is a vestige of the material that came to life as a simple rehearsal and without major pretentions, took us across continents. It is specially dedicated to those who have supported us since the beginning and to those who have found a place within these sounds to share their feelings."

First River Regards album art] tracklist:

01. Storm
02. Recklessness
03. Mar De Grises
04. For Just An Eternity

Bonus multimedia: Live at Doom Shall Rise Festival III
05. Storm
06. El Otro

Madder Mortem - Deadlands Album To Be Re-Released

Official press release

Deadlands re-release out on Peaceville Records!

This re-issue features 2 new recordings exclusive to this release in the shape of "The Exile", structured around extras from the writing process from the Deadlands era, and "Deadlands Revisited" a spine-tingling re-imagining of the original with violin courtesy of Sareeta from Ram-Zet. Also included are new liner notes written by Agnete.

We reccommend you check out this re-release for some seriously bleak, monstrous and heavy songs. After 9 years, it still feels as vital and
fresh as it did in 2002. With the newly recorded bonus-tracks, that we are extremely proud of, there should be plenty to dive into.

Decapitated - Band Update

Polish metallers Decapitated have issued the following update from guitarist Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka:

"It's time to come back! After a two-year break, Decapitated is coming back with new members. The official new line-up for Decapitated will be announced at the end of December.

As you all know, the decision to continue the band was really, really hard for me, but everything I do now is to keep Decapitated alive. Covan's situation has not improved much and he is still in bed and unable to function on his own. He still fights to recover as we speak and we are all still 100% behind him and hope for the best. It has been the hardest thing for me to move on without Vitek by my side, but he would have wanted me to continue with the band.

Finally, I have found some great musicians who can continue the work of Vitek and Covan. At the beginning of April, Decapitated will start to play our first reunion shows. We will visit the biggest cities in Australia and play some of the biggest summer festivals in Europe. Don't worry, we won't forget about the UK! After this, the band will concentrate on the making of a new album! I would like to thank all the people who have supported us all this time."

Maurizio Iacono of the artist management firm Hard Impact Music adds: "I feel very privileged to have been given the management duties of guiding this great band's future. Decapitated was a band on the verge of greatness until tragedy hit them and the band's world stopped suddenly. Today, we have a man on a quest to bring the glory back that was taken from them prematurely. Vogg, the band's last remaining founding member, has had the gut-wrenching task of forming a new lineup for Decapitated. You can bet that the mission has been accomplished and in honor of the fallen, their legacies will be given the justice they deserve. Our job at Hard Impact is to make sure that Decapitated are guided the right way back to the top."

Gerardo Martínez, Nuclear Blast USA's Label Manager comments: "I don't think there's anyone happier to know that the legacy of Decapitated will continue and the fact that Vogg has overcome the biggest obstacle of his life. We all at Nuclear Blast are extremely excited about the news and know that 2010 and beyond will bring a new chapter for Decapitated in the shape of live shows and the imminent new album. The masters of modern technical death metal are back!"
