Abigor - New Label

Reunited Austrian black metal band Abigor have inked a deal with End All Life Records.
The band write in a statement :
"We're glad to announce the co-operation with End All Life Records.
Note: There different reasons for our decision, but at least we're still rooted in the lungs of hell, and not one major/underground label/distribution could offer us a deal similar to End All Life.
So await the release of a great album with the support of an independent label with a worldwide distribution...
Anyway, we'd like to thank all labels and distributions that would have been interested in a co-operation with Abigor."

Candlemass - Officially Parts Ways With Messiah

Swedish doom metallers, Candlemass have posted the following extensive update via the band's homepage:

"You have heard the rumours and it is with a heavy heart we must make this official. The band have tried to solve the situation several times, but Messiah cannot be persuaded to sing on the new album. His attitude and demands are way too unreasonable.
I'm very sorry about this, not surprised though.
We have all been very disappointed with Messiahs behaviour during the previous years reunion, especially with his childish and undemocratic way to "discuss" matters before the may recording at Polar in Stockholm. It's not cool when one person refuses to listen to other people, don't give a shit about his bandmates and demands special treatment.
Sure, a little bit of primadonna vices is allowed in a band. But when it comes to the extent that its "my way or the highway" in every little discussion that comes up, it is not fun anymore. We like the thought of five equal metalheads playing together, having fun in the rehearsalroom, at gigs etc. That's the whole point of it if you ask us. Unfortunately negativity and stupidity have been dictating the rules for Candlemass lately.

We hope you all can understand how disappointed we are. And angry! Disappointed with the fact that a grown man can behave so badly towards others - his friends - and for such a long time. And so easily, when he doesn't get everything he wants, throws it all away. We're still in chock! We never thought it was possible for somebody in this great band to have such a bad attitude towards his bandmates!
We are also angry that we have bought the shit for so long. Been fucked over so much, so many times since the reunion 2002. It's really shameful!
It only took a couple of gigs to understand that Messiah wasn't back to make friends, so we have fought hard to keep this together for you - our fans. It's been a rough ride, but when you stand in front of 200 or 2000 or even 20 000 screaming fans it's worth all trouble.

And yes, it was close that last album didn't include Messiah, but we made it happen because we love this music and we love that you guys love us!! But it was the last album with Messiah Marcolin on vocals. We can't deal with the big man anymore. Sorry!!
We tried to reason with him before the recording of the new one but Messiahs behaviour was beyond the acceptable. Mr Marcolin has been too much to take and the reasons behind his departure from Candlemass are not very flattering for him. No details, sorry....too embarrassing.......

Wintersun - To Mix New Album In May

Wintersun's drummer Kai Hahto has issued the following update:

"We have to inform you that the last three shows which were in Sweden and Norway are not going to happen in the upcoming European tour. Amon Amarthare heading straight from Europe to support Children Of Bodom in their American tour and this is the reason. We are very sorry for this but it wasn't in our hands and we hope to play some Scandinavian shows in the near future. Also the Ragnarok festival that was supposed to be in May 2007 is cancelled.

"The reason for cancelling this festival is because we have booked Sonic Pump studios to mix the new album with Nino Laurenne in May 2007. The schedule for releasing the second album, 'Time', hasn't been able to hold for many reasons and some of them has been really delaying and slowing down the recording process. And when the recording couldn't finish in the schedule also the mixing had to be cancelled and re-scheduled. Jari is still working very hard to finish the album and to make the best possible second release for Wintersun.

"The release date is now planned to be somewhere in August 2007 but I promise that the wait will be worth it! We are very sorry for this delay! Have patience."

Vomitory - To Enter Studio In December

Swedish brutal death metallers, Vomitory will enter Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden on December 3 to begin recording their sixth album. The band's statement goes as follows:

"This time we'll work with producer Rikard Löfgren, who is the founder/owner of Leon Music," the band said in a statement. "Rikard Löfgren is still a pretty unfamiliar name within the death metal scene. He mostly works with more commercial music but he is a great producer and has his roots in metal. We know the guy since ages and we have great confidence in him."
It's going to feel strange to do a new Vomitory album not working with our sidekick Henrik Larsson, but we feel it's time to try something new. Since Vomitory isn't exactly an experimental band, we feel that working in a new studio with a new producer is a good way of renewing the band. We have two weeks for the recording and one week of mix and mastering."

The as-yet-untitled CD is scheduled for release at the end of April 2007 through Metal Blade Records.

Dark Moor - Finish Recording New Album

Spain-based Power Metallers Dark Moor have posted the following message on their official website:

"I'm writing again just to let you know we've finished the recordings for the new album, and our dearest producer Luigi Stefanini and my bandmate Enrik are currently working on the mixing and mastering of it!!!

I had quite a good recording process. My throat went very well and finished very quickly!! I was really surprised of how fast I was going, so I had time enough to repeat parts that were ok at first time but wanted to improve even more!! I think I have reached with this record an important point in my career and in my way of singing, my voice and style sound really personal. So, we will start soon with the post-production work and promotion, I can't tell you any more for the moment, but will keep you updated, OK?"

The new album is tentatively scheduled for an early 2007 release via an as-yet-undisclosed label. And will also include a guest appearance by the Dutch singer Manda Ophuis of the band Nemesea."

Amon Amarth - New Video Posted Online

Swedish death metallers Amon Amarth's new video of the song 'Runes To My Memory' has been posted online, here (Windows Media required). The track comes off the Swedish metallers' latest album, "With Oden On Our Side", which was issued through Metal Blade Records on 25 September 2006 in the following formats: limited-edition red vinyl LP, standard CD, limited-edition two-CD digipack, and standard LP.

As previously reported, the last three shows of the European tour in Scandinavia got cancelled since Amon Amarth got the chance to support Children Of Bodom in the U.S. - an opportunity they simply couldn't miss. Amon Amarth fans all over Scandinavia shouldn't be too sad though - the band will play a much more extensive leg in Scandinavia in early 2007!
