Nasum - Live Rare Videos Posted Online

Swedish Grindcore metallers, Nasum have posted online two complete live shows from the band's early tour.

Taken from their official site:

"Thanks to Rob of Loudnet.tv I can now offer you two rare live shows from the very first Nasum tour, seven years ago, in their entirety.

Rob shot these videos back in 1999 at CBGB's in New York and Melody Bar in New Brunswick, and they bring back a lot of memories. The first tour is something special and I can remember very much of those 17 days we were in the US like it was just the other week.

These rough videos display a very early version of Nasum as a live band. It was our ninth and tenth show with that line-up and it was the end of the tour. I am frankly surprised that it was as good as it is (?) considering everything. The band sounds very aggressive and hardcore and the tracklist includes lots of songs thae tracklist includes lots of songs that we never played again live. It's very cool, and it's also a bit humerous - just look at how low Mieszko had his mike stand during this tour! It's freaking hilarious."

To check out the videos, click here.

As previously announced, Nasum decided to split up after Talarczyk died in the the Southeast Asian tsunami disaster on December 26, 2004.

Metallica - Music Tool For Rocking Babies To Sleep?

The press reports: If you know nothing about Metallica, "Enter Sandman" does sound like it could be the title of a lullaby.
A company called Baby Rock Records has released lullaby versions of tracks by Metallica, Coldplay and Radiohead.
Baby Rock Records did the lullaby tributes because they love the music of all those artists. Executive producer said they tested the CDs on babies they knew and she can vouch that one crying baby fell asleep while listening to the Coldplay disc.
The Metallica, Coldplay and Radiohead versions came out on August 29.

Future editions will feature lullaby versions of Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Bjork, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, No Doubt, The Pixies and Pink Floyd. Aiello said while a lot of the music works well in this format, some songs just don't work. She said even though "Rape Me" by Nirvana was a hit, it just wasn't the best choice for babies.

Gigantour 2006 - CD To Receive European Release In October

SPV/Steamhammer has set to release "Gigantour" deluxe 2-CD set, (October 2 in Europe and September 29 in Germany). The set captures 2005's heavy metal onslaught that was hailed as the best metal bill of the year, with Revolver magazine calling it "the mother of all shred fests." Organized by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine as a tour featuring "only bands whose musicianship matches their ability to melt faces with sheer volume and power" (Miami Herald), "Gigantour" features unforgettable performances by Megadeth, Dream Theather and Fear Factory as well as Anthrax (CD only), Nevermore, Life Of Agony, Symphony X, Dry Kill Logic and Bobaflex.

"There are a few very successful tours out each summer and in order to be significant, I knew the first Gigantour had to make an impact with top bands," says Mustaine. The six-week tour ? with bands personally chosen by Mustaine ? was designed to help bring like-minded hard rock fans together at a reasonable price, with most tickets in the $40 range. "I wanted to put together a festival that consisted of positive bands that play heavy music in a high-energy environment," Mustaine said in the July '05 Guitar World. "I think the variety of playing styles and the credibility of the different players is really exciting."

Carnal Forge - Songwriting Update

Swedish thrash metallers, Carnal Forge issued the following update:

"Here's some more new song titles. We also got a couple more that hasn't got any titles yet, and some might change. The pre-production of the new album has been a long, long process but in the end it has been really worth it. We have gone thru all the arrangements and vocal parts in a way that we never have done with CF before. The result is just utterly brilliant. We have also tried som stuff that we never did in CF, we have a couple really heavy songs. One is so slow it almost falls apart... haha...

Some wonder why it takes so god damn long time this time around, but the thing is that we live in tree differnt cities, so we have met for pre-prod work once, maybe twice a month to work together. On all other albums with CF the vocals were made in the studio. But I promise you it's worth the wait... Soon we'll start the real recording...

Godsend Gods End
Hate Junkie
Ante Mori
End Game
Testify For My Victims
Biological Waste Matter
Questions Pertaining The Ownership Of My Mind
Subhuman
Forever Guilt
Burning Eden
The Dead

Cheers
Lars & Carnal Forge"

Napalm Death - Frontman Talking About Jesse's Passing

Napalm Death Frontman Barney has issued the following statement regarding the passing of Terrorizer/ex-Napalm Death guitarist Jesse Pintado:

"I am sitting here still really trying to take in what has happened with Jesse. We were in Bulgaria playing at the time when it seems to have happened, and communications were a little off our radar.

I don't really want to dissect things too much because I'm conscious of how Jesse's family must be feeling right now - simply to say that I'm sad and also disappointed that Jesse wasn't able to fully lift himself again and re-discover his hunger with Terrorizer. RIP amigo."
