Japanese avantgarde black metallers Sigh have announced that the band's ninth album In Somniphobia will be released in March, 2012, through Candlelight Records and have unveiled the album cover. In Somniphobia will be the follow-up to Sigh's last album Scenes From Hell.

The band commented on the upcoming release: "This album is by far more musically varied compared to the last two albums. Put heavy metal, classical music, jazz, Indian traditional music, Stockhausen, and Xenakis into a cauldron of hell and stir it, you'll get In Somniphobia. It is a pure sonic nightmare that lasts more than an hour."

Their last album was really amazing, I'm sure this will be as much awesome. cool cover btw, it really doesn't picture wht is included in the CD

That is one peculiar artwork... I can't say if I like it or not.

Cover is great, so interesting to look.

That's sick cover art! Me like!

Pregnant old woman solemnly carries some dead babies, two children handle skulls... What a disquieting cover.

I clearly didn't pay enough attention to the cover then, I totally missed that. Sick!

That cover art is fucking genius! Almost makes up for their poor last album alone.
3rdWorldFuckface - 17.12.2011 at 16:50
Beautiful cover art
Nightfall - 17.12.2011 at 18:37
Their last album could have been better if it wasn't for the production. It ruined the orchestral elements. But this song is giving me some hope. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd4oTZabos8
Paradox0 - 17.12.2011 at 19:59
The cover art just just as awesome as Scenes from Hell's. The description sounds like typical Sigh goodness but that promo song just sounds kind of bland for Sigh but then again they will probably do something new with the mixing/production/writing to give it that classic Sigh energy we all know and love.
Troy Killjoy - 17.12.2011 at 20:25
For some reason I get the feeling that they're trying too hard with this cover. Not sure why... I just don't buy it.
Dark†SymphonY - 17.12.2011 at 21:25
That's quite a disturbing cover..... and I like it.

Brilliant cover art and like JOOE said it makes up for their poor last album

I dunno. I always get this "we're SO different lol" vibe from them. Music and cover art.

Really? All their artwork has been fairly standard to me. I really liked the Japanese-looking ones they used to do and the others have all been nice but not out of the ordinary. This one genuinely has a strange style and vibe too it though. They're an odd band so it'll probably fit the music.

To be honest I'd probably think it's brilliant if like any other band used it.

Probably some subconscious judgment thing or whatever.

I have an awkward relationship with avant-garde music. Sigh fall into the "I hate this shit" category.

How can you say no to this:

Imo the only reason Sigh gets all the raise is because they are Japanese indeed. Somehow a lot of people equate Japanese with great. Don't ask me why, but they do.

Japanophiles otherwise known as Weeabos: you know the type of people who will watch anime for thirty hours straight and declare it the best thing to happen since the dawn of creepy tenticle porn. I do enjoy anime myself but some people just get out of control with that stuff.

Looking forward to a change of pace from them, that list of varied styles sounds promising.

I think the explanation is pretty obvious, though.
People hear about 3 (well, 2 now) little schoolgirls from Japan, one of which is fornicating with Maniac, who are blasting a very primitive/raw version of crust black metal. It's natural that people get curious, I know I did.
Rog-Mothoth - 19.12.2011 at 00:57
Speaking of cover art get some people to think this is some avant-garde record (not AG metal just music) and...link

Gollmy Lights was released before Darkthrone brought them over to Peaceville and before Skitliv toured with Gallhammer. Although admitedly, Gloomy Lights wasn't a very good album.
But I blame Peaceville for most of the bashing the band gets.

Precisely. Except it's spelled weeaboo. Like our resident Wapanese J-Flower Metal tentacle pr0nz pinko.

Album art looks interesting, btw.
