US metallers Killswitch Engage announced on their official website that the band decided to continue without vocalist Howard Jones. The band is now making preparations for the upcoming album, due to be released at some point later in the year. The band issued the following update:

"To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we've had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. We really do appreciate it and we very much look forward to having a new record for all of you in the not too-distant future that we can all be proud of. Sincerely, Adam, Joel, Mike, and Justin."

Thanks also to CHEF METAL HEAD!

Guy before was a wicked vocalist but I doubt even he could make KsE a good band again.

Plus he's in three other bands apparently. :/

Nothing worthwhile though. He only does his average clean singing now.

I have to learn how to read, I thought you meant Howard.

I'm still checking those out, they look pretty good!

Actually Times Of Grace is pretty good I thought. I also liked Seemless. The reason he does mostly clean singing now is the same reason he left KsE, he never learned how to properly scream so the whole time he was screaming in KsE he was literally annihilating his vocal cords and the doctors told him if he didn't quit screaming he would blow them out completely and need vocalizer so he quit KsE and still to this day he can't scream for much because of how badly he messed up his vocal cords in KsE.

So who wants to start a pool that they try to grab Phil Labonte since he was runner-up the first time around? Hahaha

Edit:

Guess this means I lost the pool...
JD - 05.01.2012 at 03:39
I only like one song by KsE which is by the old vocals:

Phil Labonte "No, I'm not gonna be singing for KsE."

hahahaha

Exactly...and I'm really glad no one took me up on that pool...

What the hell? This band is DEAD, Howard was the only reason this band was "good"
X5452 - 05.01.2012 at 06:16
Latest album was way to soft for me, didn't enjoy it one bit. Hopefully the new vocalist will push these guys back to their old sound.

But I am not very hopeful.
Thanntos - 05.01.2012 at 06:33
God dammit, I liked Howard
Super_Greg - 05.01.2012 at 06:40
I haven.t listened to these guy sin a while, but damn, Howard was a beast... bummer.
strade - 05.01.2012 at 07:09
Now if only the rest of the band will relieve themselves from duty...
Unhealer - 05.01.2012 at 14:42
Never got into this band, but if there was something I liked from them was their vocals only. That guy really could sing.
Wonder what they have in mind.

KsE post Jesse Leach can not, never, ever, be described as "good". And it can't be DEAD considering it DIED the moment Jesse left the band. This emo pop crap they've been spewing for these last 9 years is not Killswitch Engage, it's an aberration.

It's worse than what In Flames went through (considering In Flames simply sold out instead of losing their lead singer).

As much as I agree that their best material was with Jesse, I think Howard became the only noteworthy segment of the band during his time with them.

People hate on Howard a lot and I find it very unjustified; imo picking him up was the only way for kse to make the best of a bad situation.
selken - 05.01.2012 at 19:30
Shame... "not discussing the reasons" sounds to me they didn't part in good terms
anyway finding a good/better singer wouldn't be such a challenge, Jonas is not a bad singer, just, average...
SBGMetal - 05.01.2012 at 23:44
Oh i bet he's very relieved after leaving this band
Swamphell - 06.01.2012 at 03:49
Howard gives KsE special taste , now they are like all other metalcore band
Troy Killjoy - 06.01.2012 at 03:59
They haven't even replaced the guy yet. Who knows, maybe their next vocalist blows everyone out of the water.

Mongoose2557 - 07.01.2012 at 00:14
This band was my favorite... in middle school. I did like them at one point, mainly the stuff Howard did before their 2nd self-titled album that came out in 09'. After that I just stopped listening to them. They'll get a new singer that hardcore fans will hate for a while, then act like he's been there from the start. Shame to see him let go though, kinda liked his voice.
Roro - 07.01.2012 at 18:55
I think changing the Vocalist (the leader in any band) will defiantly change the band for good, maybe for the best , maybe for the worse. and defiantly will Impact on the fan base .

A bad news for me. I kinda got used to his style, and I think he was perfect for KsE. I don't hope for better replacement.
