Horrible choices, but I will have to go with Volbeat feat King Diamond.

    This is hilarious.

I think we'll go on living with whoever wins, but out of respect and the impressiveness of 13 as a sort of comeback I'd say Black Sabbath or Dream Theater's "The Enemy Within" is pretty cool too.
    Mattybu - 07.12.2013 at 18:24

I think the Grammys should drop anything metal related all together. It's all a popularity contest anyway. Isn't that the point of metal? Fuck the norm and tell everything that's popular to piss off. Who cares if it wins an award or not, or if somebody says it's good or bad? If it makes you feel good, fucking listen to it! \m/

If that ever was the point of metal, it is less the point of it now than it ever has been.

(A very boring selection... not a matter of quality but... Black Sabbath? Led Zeppelin?... Anthrax? Dream Theater?... Seriously? Metal is great, is not only 5-10 bands!)
    Ritual_Suicide - 07.12.2013 at 21:27
The real art being made never gets the recognition it deserves from these kind of elitist get togethers. Whether its the Grammys or those embarrassing as all fuck Spike TV Video Game or Revolver Golden God awards shows.

    Where's Watain?

Not tr00 enough (but will probably get the swedish grammy).

I had my money on Portal or Blut Aus Nord. I am disappointed.
    M C Vice - 08.12.2013 at 04:21
No Leave No Cross Unturned (Darkthrone) or Hello Nurse (A Sound Of Thunde)? Not that I was expecting there to be, anyway.
Hey, could the MS awards have a best song thing (probably write in votes only) or wouldn't that work with the winner probably only getting 50 or so votes?

    Where's Watain?

    Only mainstream bands gets through.

I think its not only even on vote basis, otherwise many underrated metal bands would have been through.

Anyway, i dont care much about grammy's shit. Awards are purchased.

Had they picked almost any other son from 13, I would have said Sabbath. However, to be honest, I find little to enjoy in "God Is Dead?"

I'd give it to The Enemy Inside; even though Dream Theater's album wasn't that good, TEI is a solid single, and one of the better songs from the album.
    Ajay Singh - 08.12.2013 at 19:10
Good devil these grannies didn't nominate black Sabbaths heaven and hell or something old especially when they had a 13 for 2013. Btw if they had to grammify BS, anthrax and DT,.. likeways to gramify king diamond, they could have just grammified abigail or somethin rather than this.
    deadone - 09.12.2013 at 02:04
Dunno why they even bother with this kind of thing?

Metal is a real niche and one the conventional mainstream music world has never understood.

If it was me, Carcass' Surgical Steel for the best album of the year and up there in the top 5 21st metal albums released in the 21st century!

Ha...Ha...Ha..., Grammy Awards should go to hell, they're more and more entertaining, rename it as Grammy Comedy Awards better !
    DoomDriver - 12.12.2013 at 14:11
I will vote for Dream Theater - The Enemy Inside!
    Dylan - 15.12.2013 at 13:11
A cover of acdc gets nominated

    oh wow
    deadone - 16.12.2013 at 03:14
Metallica got a Grammy for a Queen cover. Though that was only to offset the fact they didn't get the Grammy for an original (One) that instead went to Jethro Tull. And even Jethro Tull didn't understand why they got the Grammy for best metal performance.
