||The Housecore Horror Film & Music Festival is returning this year. The second annual edition of the fest will take place from October 23rd-26th, once again in Austin, Texas. The amazing initial batch of bands that will perform was announced today. The festival was started last year by writer Corey Mitchell and Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down).
Bands confirmed so far: Satyricon, Eyehategod, Macabre, Cattle Decapitation, Unearth, Warbeast, Portal, Wizards Of Gore (featuring Casey Orr, Bruce Corbitt, and Harden Harrison of Rigor Mortis performing their old Rigor Mortis songs as a tribute to their fallen member, Mike Scaccia), Ringworm, KEN Mode, Subrosa, Acid Witch, Author & Punisher, Archspire, Witchburn, Krigblast (featuring D.R.I. drummer Felix Griffin), Fulgora (featuring members of Pig Destroyer and Misery Index) and Evil United (featuring Jason McMaster of Dangerous Toys and Watchtower).
Lamb Of God's vocalist Randy Blythe will be hosting, and will not only share stories from his upcoming book, but also participate in a Q&A following a screening of the documentary As the Palaces Burn.
The film portion of the festival will include a celebration of the horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original), which turns forty this year. Attending the event will be all of the living members of the film's main cast. The cast will participate on panels and Q&A after the screening of the film, as well as signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans.
