Roadburn 2015 - Announce More Bands

Roadburn 2015 has added another batch of bands and special performances to its 20th anniversary edition. And you can find out all about it here. In terms of special performances, it was confirmed that Enslaved and Wardruna will perform Skuggsjá, the sound of Norway's Norse History at Houses of the Holistic, Ivar Bjørnson's and Einar "Kvitrafn" Selvik's curated Roadburn event on April 10th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Moreover, Bongripper will play two sets at Roadburn, the first will see them play their latest album, Miserable, in full.

But there is more, of course. Floor, Sólstafir, Virus, White Hills, Svartidauði, Junius, Skeletonwitch, Messenger, The Osiris Club, Zoltan and Mortals have all being confirmed for next year's edition as well.

Roadburn Festival 2015 will run for four days from Thursday, April 9th to Sunday, April 12th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. The tickets will go on sale on October 16th, 2014. Set your alarm and get ready to get your tickets at 21:00 CET!

Written by Bjørnson and Selvik for the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian Constitution and premiered this past weekend at the Eidsivablot festival, this will be Skuggsjá's first performance outside of Norway.

Skuggsjá translates into 'mirror' or 'reflection' in the Norse language, and the commissioned piece not only contextualizes harder music's role in the democracy in Norway in 2014, but also joins threads from the country's ancient musical history and solidifies harder music's position as Norway's most important cultural export.

The main stage line-up for Houses of The Holistic is now complete.

One thing is for sure, Ivar & Einar have better taste than Mr. Akerfeldt

But I think Roadburn focuses too much on prog/psych/not-too-straightforward-metal (and not only last year) which makes it not that appealling considering the hassle to get a ticket and the option of other fests...

Double Bongripepr sets, one to stomp you to death, one to push you six feet into the ground.

Seriously though, would be sweet to see.

I think Roadburn focuses too much on prog/psych/not-too-straightforward-metal

Understandably so, because Roadburn originally started as more of a psychedelic rock fest than anything else, at first there was little to no metal at all, and it still retains those roots. Metal nonetheless gets its fair presence these days though, and not just the stoner doom kind of stuff, but a good share of black, death, and (this year, surprisingly) thrash. It may be mostly about the trippy, groovy, jam-oriented stuff over all, but that's certainly not the only personality to be found at the fest
