Cobalt - New Album Update
After 6 years without new releases, extreme metal band Cobalt is working on the follow up to 2009's Gin. Primary composer and instrumentalist Erik Wunder has stated that the material is written and you can expect 9 songs on the upcoming LP. In this new update, it is revealed that Cobalt is booked to enter the studio with long-time collaborator, Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in June. Wunder has also confirmed that vocalist Phil McSorley will not be featured on the album that will be called Slow Forever, by the way.
The album will most likely come out in early 2016 on Profound Lore Records and Erik Wunder also hinted at the arrival of a new vocalist.
Given the long wait, classic status of Gin, and rocky line-up changes; what do you think will come of this latest outing? In the meantime, you can listen to Gin right here.
