Iron Maiden - Announce First Tour Dates, Dickinson Demoed Solo Songs

Today there is both news from Iron Maiden as well as its singer Bruce Dickinson solo band. Dickinson has revealed that he has already demoed six songs for his new solo album. It's the first update about his solo project in 10 years and since latest album Tyranny Of Souls (2005). In Iron Maiden news, the band has confirmed tour dates in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa to present their new release The Book Of Souls.

Dickinson said about the potential solo album: "I actually... One idea I had... And I don't know if I'm gonna do it yet... One idea I had was maybe in November or December or something, maybe to go out and start doing some writing and a little bit of demoing, just to try my voice out ? under no stress, no jeopardy; just as an experiment to see what it sounded like. But we'll see. I mean, there's no way, even if I had a solo album finished and ready to go, it's not gonna come out next year, and it's probably not gonna come out the year after. So it's not to stress about it."

Iron Maiden will return to Australasia at the end of April on their enormous Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet Ed Force One, piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson and carrying band, crew and stage production and equipment. Returning to New Zealand after seven years, Maiden will play 2 shows.

The dates are:

April 29 - Christchurch, Horncastle Arena, New Zealand
May 01 - Aucklane, Vector Arena, New Zealand
May 04 - Brisbane, Entertainment Centre, Australia
May 06 - Sydney, Allphones Arena, Australia
May 09 - Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena, Australia
May 12 - Adelaide, Entertainment Centre, Australia
May 14 - Perth, Arena, Australia
May 18 - Cape Town at the Grand Arena, South Africa
May 21 - Johannesburg, Carnival City Festival Lawns, South Africa
