Obscura - Launch Fourth Single From Upcoming Outing
One month before the official release of the Obscura's sixth studio album A Valediction, another new tune has premiered online - "When Stars Collide". It features clean vocal guest performance by their label mate Björn "Speed" Strid. The accompanying video clip was directed by Mirko Witzki and produced by Steffen Kummerer.
Frontman Steffen Kummerer comments on the single: "One of the highlights and contested compositions of A Valediction features Björn Strid of our label mates Soilwork. "When Stars Collide" recombines an uplifting pace with a rather dark and bitter narrative that leads into to a story for reflection. A sense of delight and feeling of relief covers all mournful misery."

On the one hand, yaaaay, on the other, no pls I like my Obscura "the way it was". We'll see how the rest turns out. It does sound like Steffen gave more free way to Christian in composition and they are just having fun with it. That being said, the good old CoB sound is sorely missed these days.

Dunno, looks like it's gonna be a varied album, some songs are gonna sound like classic Obscura, others are gonna be more accesible and probably a third group is gonna be somewhere in the middle. To me that's a good thing but I get that some just like it the way it was... We'll se when we get the whole thing. BTW the less exciting thing in this song is Bjorn, feels kinda forced...
