Powerwolf - Unleash 'Sainted By The Storm' Single

Powerwolf are excited to unveil a brand new 3-piece single, Sainted By The Storm. The title track, which is now streaming as a lyric video down under, will be also available as an instrumental as well as orchestral version.

The band comments; We would like to thank you all for your fantastic support with the release of a brand new song! It's been less than a year since we released our new album Call Of The Wild and it's rather unusual for us to follow up so soon, but we miss you all and were overwhelmed by your comments and feedback not only on the last album but also on our streaming event 'The Monumental Mass', despite the lack of live shows and the opportunity to see each other again and celebrate a furious metal mass together! Enjoy "Sainted By The Storm", this one is for you, wolves!

Oh wow, it really does sound like Sabaton... and the most generic version of Sabaton, to make it worst.
Well, it's not for me anymore. Such a shame.

I think we're finally reaching the point in time where all the bands that revolve around a gimmick just run of fumes.
It was a matter of time, if we think about it. There's only so much you can say about a given topic and have it always sounding fresh and original.

Let's face it, it's not even about the theme of the band, it's the actual structure of the songs (e.g. catchy chorus a capella -> catchy melody -> verse -> pre-chorus -> chorus -> rinse, repeat -> solo -> chorus). It's very formulaic which, in itself, it is not that bad as long as it's made by different bands with different approaches, When you have the same band using the same constant approach we get a song like this, that can be inserted in any of the last five records and we wouldn't notice anything out of place. That shows lack of evolution.

In my opinion, now's the time when we'll finally see which band can make or break. Which band has the skill to reinvent themselves. Which band has the courage to assume that the formula has been overused and has the clarity to change it.

As far as I'm concerned, their creativity ended with Lupus Dei.
This song is indeed dreadful. As someone noticed, it sounds like Sabaton a bit too much. And Sabaton's gone downhill since Carolus Rex.

A very uninspiring, and unoriginal sounding power pop song, with typical cheesy lyrics, and vocals that are corny as hell. It does indeed sound like a Sabaton inspired effort, it's ok being catchy as hell, but it also needs to be tasteful, and this isn't imo. Can't see the rest of the album being any better tbh.
