My Sleeping Karma - Drummer Steffen Weigand Passed Away
Sad news today from the camp of German psych/stoner rockers My Sleeping Karma, who have announced the passing of drummer Steffen Weigand. His death comes after a battle with a rare kind of cancer that consumed the final three-plus years of his life. The four-piece, of which Weigand was a founding member, put word out on social media (read below).
Statement from the band: "Dear MSK Family, we are devastated to inform you that our brother Steffen has passed away this morning surrounded by his loved ones. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family. We are heartbroken and have no more words right now."

It's always sad news when a musician dies, especially under these circumstances, I don't know how old he was but he certainly looked to young to be taken this soon. One of my best friends has recently been given the all clear to cancer (Leukemia), and he really suffered last year, at one point it was touch and go if he would make it, his only just turned 32. Such a horrible disease. RIP

Among my favorite record off MSK is Atma closely followed by Moksha and Soma. Many tracks are regular on my playlist. Sad to hear about his passing. It would be tough to replace such a talented drummer.
