Hey, thanks for clarifying that for me. And, yeah, he looks very idiotic. Does he think he's in a Glam Metal band or something? Come on, he's giving Maiden a bad look during live performances.

I know lots of people who like Gers but, personally, I can't stand him at all.

I like Iron Maiden a lot. I can't say I'm a fan or anything, since I somehow never got around to buying any of their albums, but of what I have heard, I like them. What can I say? They're a classic heavy metal band, they've got classic songs and lyrics etc...the songs I've heard, I like a lot, cos they're just heavy metal classics to me...I often catch myself humming or even singing one of their songs hehe.

So, yeah, a classic heavy metal band, nothing less, but a lot more.

They are gods in my opinion. I would even go as far to say they were the first melodic metal band ever.

best maybe, but first, not a chance.. priest and even sabbath also were "melodic heavy metal bands" even a few years before maiden even formed..
check out the Priest songs: Never Satisfied, Tyrant, Sinner, Hellbent For Leather and Exciter and the Black Sabbath songs: Children of the Grave, Jack The Stripper/Fairies Wear Boots

Yeah I guess i got ahead of myself cause Maiden is my favorite, i'll look into more Priest and Sabbath. I like them both but I just haven't listened to as much of their stuff as i should have.

For good Judas Priest, I recommend the album Painkiller, or if you want something not as crazy, Screaming for Vengeance or Stained Class. They're all great albums.

The 1972 Scorpions album, The Lonesome Crow is a very underlooked melodic metal album. It has some very Maiden-esque moments...

I've heard that they are planning to record a new album in January 2010...and to tour at the end of the same year or early 2011.

Sounds interesting, I'd love to see them again these ''noncorrosive'' irons

I actually find them extremely rusty for at least quite a long time now.

I've always thought Blaze kinda looks like a big ape on stage...

Agreed though. I usually can dig Blaze's vocals. After all... I really dig The X Factor. =O!

During the tour Bruce announced that Iron Maiden would get working on the new album once the Somewhere Back in Time tour was done. Since it's over, we can probably predict a fall 2009 release. I'm pretty sure how this is how Jeff is figuring this out.

Has anyone seen Flight 666?

They showed it here in a few cinemas, and apparently they sold so many tickets, they'll showing it again. But it's impossible to get tickets!

It's the Iron Maiden madness.
