of all the masterpieces within the metal genre, there are songs that would be perfect funeral songs. for me i would pick "Beyond the Realms of Death" by Judas Priest and Fagning by Windir are the two metal songs i would have played at my funeral. 1184 probably too. yeah, what about you guys? what would you want at your funeral?
I think these would be suitable for my funeral:
Agalloch - Kneel to the cross [Sol Incubus cover]
Agalloch - This white mountain on which you will die
Agalloch - The misshapen steed
Eternal Tears of Sorrow - The river flows frozen
but what's this man...lets have something brOOtal trv...a depressive black metal band come and sing and they would sacrifice a goat and let its blood overflow over you coffin
AC/DC's Squealer...
Actually, that's totally inappropriate, but I love the instrumental. So, I'd say some Exodus song. "A Good Day to Die" would be morbid, but funny.

A good choice, I would happily go down to Savatage. Though I may make a slightly different choice.
Savatage - Morning Sun
or
Savatage - Strange Wings
or
Savatage - If I Go Away
or
Savatage - Summer's Rain
Well, to be honest I plan on being dead at my funeral so it doesn't matter to me in the slightest. However, I am an asshole. So, based on that fact, I would either have Green Carnation's "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" or Edge of Sanity's "Crimson" played. I only wish I could be alive to watch everyone in the pews looking at their phones and watches waiting for the song to end...
Well, after being buried in a plywood box with a smiley face painted on front with X'd out eyes (with a automated thumper inside that would start banging on the lid as the casket was being lowered) I would play:
-Memento Mori, by Kamelot
-Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin
-Runes To My Memory - Amon Amarth
A funeral usually lasts for quite some time, so I think we need more than just one song. Here's the list:
White Pearl Black Oceans by Sonata Arctica
Poet And The Pendulum by Nightwish
Abandoned by Kamelot
Pull Me Under by Dream Thearer
Follow The Reaper by Children Of Bodom
Beyond The Realms Of Death by Judas Priest
The Perfect End by The Kovenant
epic, sweeping, and unforgettable.
bonus points if it can be followed by Epilogue.

Here I gaze at a pantheon of oak, a citadel of stone
If this grand panorama before me is what you call God...
Then God is not dead

I love the Misshapen Steed, great choice, but not White Mountain, too much distortion.
After just listening to Misshapen Steed then, i would have to say it is now mine. No vocals, just great keys and violin that sets an eerie calm atmosphere. It's a pity Pale Folklore was recorded so badly.
