Brütal Legend - Complete Game Soundtrack Revealed

GameDaily.com has revealed the complete tracklisting for the Brütal Legend video game, which will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, on October 13 in North America and on October 16 in Europe.

"This soundtrack took years to put together as we wanted to represent every genre of Metal, and also have the perfect music for every epic moment in the game," says Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions development studio. "It's designed to be loved by Metal fans, and for those who are not, it will either convert them or make their heads explode... or both."

"What can I say?," Emily Ridgeway Brütal Legend's music director adds. "It's metal. It's the best. It'll kick your f***ing teeth in."

According to a press release, Brütal Legend is the new heavy-metal themed action game, starring the voice of actor Jack Black. Brütal Legend tries to bring the funny along with a third-person action game will have you pulling off the proverbial kitchen sink of video game antics.

Brütal Legend tells the tale of Eddie Riggs, played by Jack Black, who is drawn back through time to a mythical world immersed in Rock and Roll folklore; where great Metal titans once ruled and power chords rang from the countryside for all to hear. When an oppressed people request Eddie's knowledge of modern warfare, he pulls from his own experience in the only occupation he's ever had, a roadie for a Heavy Metal band. From this springs the most hellacious army man has ever seen, and thus brings this ancient world into the Age of Metal.

More info about the game at this location and at http://www.brutallegend.com.

They definitly did a great job making the sound track diverse. I want this game so bad, just don't know if I'll have the money. The sound track makes me want it even more!

Don't know if it will be a good game (I think so... as I read so far, it looks great!) but it's fun as hell at least (PS: I love Halford character lol).

The Sound Track is great, without any nu metal track! For sure it's done by real true metalheads!

I hate videogames, but that is one hell of a soundtrack. Would be almost worth buying an Xbox 360 or PS3 and the game

Haha yes lol. I think that I will buy it! It seems to be really fun !

And btw, it's directed by Tim Schafer the guy who has done Secret Of Monkey Island (I & II) Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle etc! Legendary games and as I know this guy is a real metalhead! (you probably remember those old games Marcel )

Could be fun to interview him actually lol

I stopped playing computer games entirely after 1993, and even at that time I only played them on a pc. So the last one I played was one of the early Lazy Larry ones

I just checked and apparently Monkey Island I is from 1990 that just shows how much of videogame nerd I was back then already
Tbh I used to absolutely love pong, and later space invaders and pacman but computer/video games soon lost my interest when they became way more intricate and complex. If I want intricate and complex I'd read a good book instead (for example something by Ishiguro or Murakami.)

Shit the soundtrack is so awesome, i was surprised at the 2 Iced Earth songs, but holy shit, 2 of the most kickass 3 Inches songs, plus some other brilliant songs, Holiday by Scorpions, Breadfan and ANGEL WITCH. plus Tenacious D should be extra-awesomeness.

The lead characters name has to come from Iron Maiden's Eddie and the man who has drawn him for years Derek Riggs. So why no Maiden songs?

I was thinking the same thing but as someone else has already said they probably didn't allow them to use any songs, also notice the absence of any Metallica songs (Guitar Hero at work here?)

I think it was quite obvious they would include Manowar, since their music is as commercial and cheesy as metal can be. This shit band is mainstream as fuck.
What takes me by surprise is to see no Metallica song, since this band is extremely mainstream too.
Also, Iron Maiden's absence is very weird.
