I have an album called "the covenant progress" by a black metal band called Crimson Moonlight. Wikipedia describes this band as "Christian Black Metal" (I don't think christian ideology suits black/death/thrash metal, but its a different matter). However I myself haven't 'researched' on their lyrics.
Rudra (thrashdeath metal) 's lyrics are based on Hindu philosophy/mythology (mainly on spiritual philosophy). However, the christian and hindu attitude towards spirituality (especially afterlife) contradict each other almost completely (if you're interested, I can explain it to you in PM or related thread)

Divinefire . They're a symphonic metal band with some gothenburg-styled riffage . They're blatantly christian in their lyrics and may even be suitable as "worship" . Crimson Thorn are straight up death metal and are very christian , as well . I may say they're a bit overrated though .

This song from Sevendust (the only one I truly like from them) I interpret as a Christian song. There is little that I know about what is behind the song apart from what I perceive, but I do know that it has a very positive and kind of cheering message to it, accompanied by a video (which I recommend to the ones interested in this theme) that shows a young woman struggling her way out of the familiar problems in her house, living homeless, and almost getting into prostitution until she seems to find a meaning for her life. What meaning is this? Judging by the lyrics, I would say that she found the love of God or realized His presence or something along these lines. Also, one of the guitarists is wearing a cross on his t-shirt, what kind of pushes forward the idea that this is indeed a Christian song.

The song has someone speaking in first person and I think that the one(s) who wrote the lyrics wanted the "poetic speaker" (I hope that that is how the concept is named in English) to be seen as if he was God. At least that is how I perceived it. This is more or less how I interpret this song:

This part is as if God would be directing Himself to the people that is astray, living a hard life, and going through suffering.

In this part, it is as if God would be telling those who believe that He is ignoring them that He is aware of what they are going through, that He is not oblivious to what is happening to them and that he cares.

I think that in this part of the song, God would be directing Himself to those that, even when seeing Him, deny His existence or for whatever reason deny Him or His love. Maybe when it is said that when God turns His face too and that they stare back again, it would be referring to those that, for whatever reason, hesitate to follow God or Jesus. That is why they look back, because they can't deny His existence or the existence of His love and, in the end, human beings are incomplete without the love of God. Therefore, that need of looking back to God would be possibly involuntary and inescapable even out of desire, because we need Him.

Here God seems to be saying that even when in those moments that you cannot see Him, you can still feel Him, perhaps referring to the Holy Ghost or manifestations that He supposedly makes around you. He seems to be also saying that He is there for you, always. He then seems to ask if you would ask Him to come to your life, what is only needed for Him to do His job in your life. He then seems to say that, when things get hard and precarious, you will need Him. He is kind of trying to make you aware that you will need Him, and thus why you need to let Him enter your life.

This I think would be like a request from God to the people to make reflection of what they have gone through. He is somehow trying to make you understand that what you have gone through is unnecessary and that He can give you that helping hand you need so that you can "look at yourself" back and "start to live again" now with His help.

At least this is how I get the song.

I think that many songs by the band Virgin Black can be good stuff with christian lyrics...

It shows the beauty of the words without being boring.

Deathspell Omega (Satanic/Gnostic/"Devil worship")
Unlike most black metal scenes the French BM scene is filled with bands that actually worship satan as something spiritual, in contrary to most other bands that only use it as symbolics or just a rebellion. The cosmos that DO's lyrics take place in aren't very different from the Christian one. Although being satanic the music does not only deal with Satan, but also sings about Jesus and God as well. One interesting thing about DO's lyrics is the fact that they use Lord(or variations of it) quite a lot in their lyrics, and the meaning of witch lord(Satan or Jesus) depending on context. And off course: understanding the context(if there always is one) is not always easy. Their most known album is Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice. In other words: very abstract stuff. You can hear the first track of their album here. Quite possibly not exactly what you are looking for, but defintely spiritual and abselutely

Cynic (New age)
Cynic is the death metal band that by their first(and only) album turned into fusion-jazz metal. The music of the fusion-band isn't the only thing that inspired them, they where also inspired by their fascination of the east and new age spirituallity. (For fusion works with spirituall lyrics listen to Mahavishnu Orchestra.) This band is very new age and does not attempt to hide it at all. (I was at their concert and the before they started playing the waiting music was new age chanting.) The song where their spirituality is most obvious is Sentiment, and IMO also their best song. You can hear their music on their MySpace Page.

Tool (New age)
Although Tool is by no means a band that only revolves around new age a lot of their music has new age leanings to it. You can hear this musically(indian influenced drumming) and lyrically(new age spiritual).
Their most outright new age song is probably Parabola, a lot of the new age ideas of this is expressed in the music video. Some of Tool's artwork has been made by new age painter Alex Gray. Third Eye is also a song of their that have a strong spirituall vibe to it. They also sing about some themes that are not directly new age, but are often related to the new age movement. (Such as the teachings for Carl Jung.)

Rudra (Hindu)
The most known band from Singaore's no more than a dozen-large metal scene. (It's *very* small). Although living in Singapore the bandmembers here are of Indian descent and their roots hare exposed in their music. This is death metal meeting indan classical music. A lot of their lyrics make references to old indian or sancrit stuff. This is probably also the only band to use the term "Aryan" in the proper way. (It's a indian word that looselely transelates into "wise".) You find their songs at their myspace here.

Believer (Christian)
Christian thrash/prog band dealing with various related topics including songs conating arguments against atheisme and so forth. Their 20-minute song Trilogy of Knowledge lyrics are taken right out of the bible. For anyone not interested in the spiritual asepct: this same song has some of the most interesting marriage of thrash metal, prog and string-instruments I've ever heard.

Daath (Kabbalah)
Although claiming to be non-religious they're lyrics are based on kabbalistic stuff. Now they could be interepted simply as metaphors for psychology, but are written open enough to be interepted spiritually. Musically they have their own breed of extreme metal incorperating influences from death, industrial and even prog. MySpace.

Not sure if this is exactly what you asked for, but it's spiritual music allright. Actually I'd really like to make a thread that could be a overview of band that made music of a spiritual nature. Not of speficic religion, but anything includign devilworship, aasatru(norse religion), nature worship, gnosticism, etc....
