I've started this thread as the old thread got deleted with the new site.

This is a thread about bands like: Manilla Road, Agent Steel, Jag Panzer, Cirith Ungol, Circle II Circle, Whilplash, Forbidden, Attacker, Deadly Blessing, Catch 22, Imagika, Hammers of Misfortune, Liege Lord, Apollo Ra, Pharoh, Q5, Crimson Glory, etc.

I've got the Beyond Fear album and I can say it's one hell of an album, if you into old school heavy metal, but with an up to date sound you've got to deffenetly get it.

What do you thing of Midnight's return to Crimson Glory? Any expectations?

Any news from the Agent Steel camp?

Hey, were are the US metal freaks here??

Well, just in case if you're interested in another awesome band, try WORWYK. This is a two-man project that sounds like a mix between traditional, US power and thrash metal. Killer riffs, great solo's and a good raw voice.... www.myspace.com/worwyk

I know I also heard only great news, but they don't have it at the shop where I buy things from. It's a shop in Milan that deals with many great things, it's not online & I pay no transport fees. It's a friend of mines. Right now I don't have the money to order so many things. I also ordered Lethal's "Programmed" as my cassette broke & it's a must have.

Two albums came in today;
DIVISION - Trinity. Not bad at all US heavy/power metal

FLAMETAL - The elder. This is something weird and special but very good after a few listens. Mix US power with flamenco (Spannish) guitars and you have FLAMETAL. I love flamenco guitars, the reason I bought this cd.... The language in the songs are English and Spannish. Werid but very good....

I am actually in the middle of recording all of the cd's to my pc and listing them into an excel program so as I go along I play a few that I haven't heard in a while. This being good as it reminds you why you purchased a lot of music in the first place and the question of why have you let them sit on the shelf for so long. I have a huge pile of cd's that I will be putting up an a trade board soon as my taste in music has changes over the years.

One cd I played was Siam "Prayer" reminds me of the Queensryche or possible the album Queensryche wished they would have put out. Even though it has a Queenryche quality to it , Siam still made it their own sound.

Engine was a side project from Ray Alder and they released two albums (1999 and 2002). Albums are called:
-Engine
-Superholic

About Redemption; yes, they will release a new album this year and will appear at the Headway Festival in Amstelveen/Holland in april

I havent seen Helstar named on this page yet, most probably because I skimmed through it. Anyway, Im hearin that they've re-united, or are plannin to, which would be pretty killer. It'd be great to hear'em in this day & age, & imagine what their new stuff would sound like.

Off course we talked about Helstar, I even think there's a specific thread about them... There's a reunion but new work has to wait untill James did his work with Vicious Rumors (tours). Afterwards I hope there will be the new album which supposed to sound like "Remnants of war" and "Nosferatu".... Great to see you're a fan!!!

That's the major problem of the US metal scène: there are so many good bands but they have no support.... Such a shame...

@Hellish Star: ONE of the issues is the fact that there is no support, & you're right, there are so many great bands here with loads of potential. Another reason, is the fact that bands here are really stuck up, they think because they play a few show's they are already "Rock Star's" they dont give a fuck about anything or anyone but themselve's & how "Brutal" their image is. Aside from the fact of the bands not being supported by fans in general because 99% of the fans only go to show's to get "fucked up", they also dont recieve support from fellow bands, which is the biggest problem because we're all in the same fucking business & should support eachother in every way possible, but music is a dirty job. With that said, most of the promoter's are backstabbing bastards who make money off the bands, & since the bands are not well known, they dont see a fucking dime. Things here are real fucked up, this scene is a piece of shit, if I could i'd leave to Europe & make my career as a musician over there.

Vocalist RICK MYTHIASIN Rejoins STEEL PROPHET - Mar. 5, 2007

Vocalist Rick Mythiasin has rejoined California metallers STEEL PROPHET. The band is set to begin recording the first songs with Rick in five years. Drummer Gene McEwen will begin laying down tracks for two new songs in about a week. More information will be made available soon.

STEEL PROPHET's last singer, Bruce Hall (AGENT STEEL), joined the band following the departure of Nadir D'Priest, who sang on the group's "Beware" CD (2004, Massacre Records). D'Priest originally joined STEEL PROPHET as the replacement for Mythiasin, who also has a project called MYTHIASIN.

STEEL PROPHET had previously released five records through the Nuclear Blast label and three via Art of Music/Brainstorm.
