That was terrible, that's really all I have to say about that.

I mean, I tried to listen to it. I really did. I then put aside my dislike and tried to find some quirky artistic value, but I don't hear any.

Is there something I'm missing?

It should have been a Lou Reed album called "MeMe"

If I were a Metallica fan, I would try to forget they had anything to do with this...

So, this stuff is their way to an epic failure.

Even the album's artwork is a joke.

As I understand it that's his career in a nutshell.

The only thing that's gonna keep me from voting the lowest score is this:

Frustration is hilarious. "to be dry and spermless like a girl, i want so much to hurt you, marry me i want you as my wife, spermless like a girl".
To be honest, the instrumentation is mediocre but not truly terrible - there are riffs in there that i dig (like the one after this part^), fully '5' territory, but those vocals... how did this guy made it as a vocalist??

Lou Reed is miles ahead of Metallica musically, so I might actually give this a listen. Can't be worse than Metallica's usual, I've never liked anything they've done.

Another piece of shit

I'm currently giving it the 3rd listen and it got a little better.

I could stand a full listen if it weren't for Mistress Dread. Holy cow, what were they thinking?!
Little Dog is also a "burden" to the record, but I can deal with it.

Iced Honey, Frustration and Junior Dad are excellent songs on the other hand.
The rest of the songs are rather OK or good but butchered every moment Lou Reed vocals comes in (Pumping Blood would be specially great with Lou edited out of SOME sections, somebody call that "creative" Metallica fan who edited The View)

But yeah, I can't see how this is the best thing they've ever done, or how this will create a new galaxy, or how RS dare to call this a mix of Berlin and Master of Puppets.

I want a Reed-free version of this. Just let Hetfield sing everything and it will be FINE.

The album its just another Lou reed bizarre experience but I'm surprise no one has mentioned how great and clear Lars drums sound!

Little Dog is just insanely hilarious... YOU NEVER HAD A LITTLE DOG.. WHUAAUU the song would be just so much better if it didn't feature Reed's atrocious singing. There are few moments like this nowadays, but I am completely confident I would have been able to do a better vocal job. Unless he purposefully sounded like shit for some weird artistic reason. The song also has a rif which repeats itself for 5 minutes. Unfortunately this piece of shit will still sell like crazy just because it's Metallica and Lou Reed, while real music by underground bands gets ignored on a daily basis. I even like St. Anger more than this, this is one of those things that should never have happened. A complete waste of air, creative energy and CD and (god forbid they'll ever have the balls to release it) vynil.

The stuff I heard from this album is disappointing for me too because I associate Reed with the brilliant 1996 version of the song Perfect Day (on which he sings only 2-3 verses as I realize now) so I expected a melancholic, bluesy version of Metallica. Boy I was wrong.

Strange...I didn't realize it was April 1.
