Amon Amarth artwork is pure shit tbh... Seriously. There are some cool shit that I'm glad that got in but many others feel like they just got it for popularity of the band and not for the artwork. Oh well.

Okay there is some good stuff in there but who in their right mind would vote for Gamma Ray, Amon Amarth, SepticFlesh, Iron Maiden (they have way better album covers than that one)

I like Vildhjarta because it makes me think of a children book I would have loved to read when I was a kid because the story seems like it could be epic.

Done. Some of these are really impressive I must admit. Most, however, are either rather lame or just simply awful like Mastodon's Crack the Skye for example which always makes me giggle. In the end I went with: Ahab, Dissection, Les Discrets and Vildhjarta.

It looks like I'm not the only one disappointed in the results of this poll. It seems we have a lot of users that are metal noobs from the albums picked. Only one of my suggestions made it - Mastodon's Leviathan, which is their best art and first or second best album depending on my mood. Another of my suggestions was Nekrogoblikon's "Goblin Island" because I feel the art of that album perfectly captures the essence of the music. I knew that one would not get suggested but I really enjoy looking at all the funny stuff on it. My third pick was the Amorphis album "Tales From The Thousand Lakes," which I'm surprised to not see here.
