Darkest Era - New Label, New Album In June

Cruz Del Sur Music has announced a deal with former Metal Blade artists, folk metallers Darkest Era for the release of their new album Severance. Finally, the successor to The Last Caress Of Light (2011) is set to see the light of day. In fact, you can expect the new album on June 13th in Europe and June 3rd in the US in CD, vinyl and digital formats.

Kaledon - New Album Announced

In a recent Italian interview, power metallers Kaledon just announced that they are working on their 8th studio album, the successor to Altor: The King's Blacksmith. Like its predecessor, this album will tell the story of one of the characters of the Legend Of The Forgotten Reign saga. The protagonist, this time, will be Antillius, the king, and the band has already composed twelve demo songs.

Pilgrim - Announce New Album, New Song Online

Since the early 2012 unveiling of their debut, Misery Wizard, fans have awaited the second chapter from Rhode Island doom bringers Pilgrim. Recently, it has been revealed that it will be called II: Void Worship and the new album was recorded at Moonlight Mile Recording by audio architect Mike Moebius. The first song off the album to be revealed is "The Paladin". Check it out below where you also find the album artwork and tracklist.

Omnizide

The story of Omnizide goes back to 1995 when Nox and Anders formed the black metal band Belzen together. A few years later Belzen split up. Nox joined Craft and Anders started the band Avsky. When Nox did some guest vocals on Avsky's album Scorn, Anders and Nox decided to start Belzen again. They changed the name to Omnizide and recruited drummer Gaddur from the band Kafziel.

Being a Metal Storm Staff member can tend to get you a varying frequency of messages to your inbox from people wanting you to edit the guest reviews they've submitted for the site. They want to know if everything's in order, if there wasn't too much fanboyism in their writing, and so forth. While I'm certainly not annoyed by these messages, I thought it would be a better idea to offer people suggestions on how to develop their own reviewing styles, rather than walking them through the process step by step according to a "right" way of how to do it.

Devin Townsend - Starts Pledge Campaign, New Track Online

Some days ago, Devin Townsend announced that he was going to launch a crowdfunding campaign for his album Casualities Of Cool. The day has come: the campaign has begun, and you can pledge in exchange of various bundles here. All pledges include a free download of the album upon the May 14th release date and everyone who pledges will receive regular updates from Devin and Ché Dorval plus exclusive downloads. Once the target is reached, all other proceedings will go straight into the Z2 project, which is due to start soon.

A couple of weeks ago, the complete line-up for the Paganfest America tour was unveiled, consisting of both Finnish headliners Korpiklaani and Turisas, Taiwanese Chthonic, Germans Varg and Americans Winterhymn. Green Carnation - To Reunite, Announce Special Show

If you love Green Carnation, you will love this. The Norwegian progressive metal legends will reunite in the summer of 2014. It was announced that the band is going to do their second concept show A Night Under The Dam deep into the mountains in South Norway on July 31st. The show will include both acoustic and plugged parts and showcase songs from all of their five albums. Who knows if this is the beginning of a comeback with maybe a new album. One can dream...

Katatonia - Per Eriksson Leaves, Replacement For Upcoming Tour

It has been some time coming but guitarist Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson and Katatonia have now mutually agreed to part ways. Per joined the band in 2010 as a live session player and after some substantial touring quickly became a steady fixture being heavily involved in the recording of Katatonia's 2012 studio album Dead End Kings. For the Swedes upcoming Unplugged & Reworked Tour, Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief, Wisdom Of Crowds) will perform with the band as a special guest.
