Nile

Band profile:

Nile
A few weeks into the epic Nile tour, and the band hit Derby. Before the show I went up to Karl's hotel room (catacomb) and entered with the secret knock. He's a large guy with a strong hand, and likes to do things at his own reserved pace. We talked about a few things from touring, to a DVD, Egypt, and the future. Check the video out below to see how it went:

0:05 - 3:53 "Those Whom the Gods Detest" tour and touring in general
3:53 - 5:12 Development of Nile
5:12 - 6:39 Live album or DVD?
6:39 - 9:20 Egyptian mythology, Nile's music and Egypt 2011
9:20 - 9:59 Upcoming plans

Thanks to Karl for his time, and all that helped set it up.
Conducted and edited by Barry Anderson.
Recorded by Rachel Muir.

Baz: How has it been so far?
Sanders: Really cold...yeah...*(cricket singing in the background)*...

What's wrong with Sanders? Is he always like this, or was there something mixed in his drink? Either case, it was interesting to watch...

Good interview!

Lol He can tell French people by the "bread and cheese" and Italians by "pizza". I also liked the way he answered the question about long songs.

Nice interview! xD

After seeing this interview now i truly believe that Nile are SO much professionals that they wont ever reach the top. something like cannibal corpse.. i hope they prove wrong but after 6 unsuccessful attempts (and when the best of them come from the past) i guess they wont...

Omg, the noise from that mic is driving me crazy! The interview is strange, but interesting, though

I also liked the way he answered the question about long songs.

That awkward silence and his "Wait, what?!" reply really cracked me up!

I've met Karl a couple times. Nicest person in a death metal band. Ever.
Kingface - 12.02.2011 at 14:05
Great interview! Good questions asked and interesting responses from Sanders.

In particular, I find it interesting about the observation he makes about American Metal audiences being a lot more "trendy" than European audiences.
Bad English - 12.02.2011 at 21:20
Was he drunk? It was werry unprofesional quasten ansvering what I ever seen in MS
Baz Anderson - 13.02.2011 at 19:20
No, he wasn't drunk.
wormdrink414 - 14.02.2011 at 08:55
Jet lag probably.
TrollandDie - 21.02.2011 at 22:20
Damn!

Another cool guy to prove many death metal musicians are more down to earth than the fucking ground.
FelipePV - 02.03.2011 at 19:25
Nice interview, but the cameraman is awful...
Ccoppola20 - 03.03.2011 at 23:45
Hahahahah. this is funny;)
Iron Nostarion - 22.03.2011 at 16:14
As I see it, Karl is neither drunk nor "jet lagged". He's got a flu, already said it was pretty cold. And his voice.

Anyway, I think this is a fantastic interview.
