As you might have noticed, I'm reviewing some older stuff nowadays, the reason why is that I hadn't so much time back then when I got much promos and because I got tons of Promos too.
But now it's kind a little promos coming, not that many bands are releasing their stuff this close to Christmas, so I've started reviewing the older stuff now.

This time it's Swedish Mister Kite's second full-length album "Box of Fear" that's on the menu. And to be honest, I don't know why this was putted so far back in my pile of promos.
This album is really great, no killer, but still great.
They're playing a music that I would describe as a mix between their (and my) compatriots Freak Kitchen and some more progressive parts.

This isn't as alternative and modern as Freak Kitchen, and it's a bit harder (just check out "State") and more progressive, but still I find some similarities between the two.
Alf Wemmenlind is one of the largest reasons; his voice is not far from Mattias "IA" Eklundh's voice. And the guitar-play is some songs are very alike Mattias style of playing.
And I think that's enough for compare the two bands, at least it's enough for me.

The album kicks away with the song "From This Day on", that's a quite fast one, as the rest of the songs in the beginning, but it's getting slower the farther to the end you come, I don't know if it was made on purpose or if it just happen.
And the production is good, it's very clear and that's had to be here, because this kind of guitar-play would be ruined if it weren't.

If I should choose some special tracks that I think is better than the rest I would pick the second one, "How Long" because of it's great riffs and chorus, third one "Evil Bob" because of it's chorus that reminds me of Freak Kitchen and finally the fifth, "Into Nothing", once again because the chorus (and the bridge) is good, it's not haunting chorus, I just like it.

But if you're looking for a new and fresh progressive and little alternative metal band, I think you should check up Mister Kite. With only one release behind them, their "Box of Fear" really surprised me, and it's not because it's bad I haven't reviewed it before now.
Go to their homepage and download their clips and you'll see if this is something for you or not.

Check Out: "How Long", "Evil Bob" "I Know You Know", "Into Nothing" & "State".
